This Monday’s Makeup Wars theme is focusing on our favorite celebrity for a beauty brand. For quite a while my fave celeb for a designer beauty brand has been Charlize Theron. So much about her encompasses beauty, and not just on the outside. She’s involved in women’s rights, animal rights and has started her own charity called the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, which is committed to reducing the prevalence of HIV/AIDS and sexual violence among African youth.
While we usually see Charlize looking bronzey natural in her Dior promos I have seen her wear a smokey look, which she obviously rocks. This is more of a homage to her rather than a recreation of how she looks in the ads. Plus I really wanted to show you guys this gorgeous palette that I picked up at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – the Dior Eye Reviver Backstage Pros Nordy Girl Palette ($62.00 // Nordstrom)!
This palette is limited edition and exclusive to Nordstrom but has the same packaging as the original Eye Reviver Palette. Included are four rosy toned eyeshadow shades, a base shade and a plum eye liner.
At first glance, in-store, I seriously thought this palette was the same as the original. Once you get it in a better light, it’s easy to see that they’re very different from each other. Where the original is very neutral and natural the Nordy Girl palette is much more rosy, purpley, taupes… much smokier, much more seductive. Perfect for Fall! Like the other palette all of the shades worked well on the lid and together. Blending was easy and the wear time was all day over a primer. Extremely happy with this purchase, it’s a must have for your makeup arsenal!

I think my favorite ‘colors’ for eyeshadows are purples and greens, but those deeper colors are really pretty. Looks like something I would wear. 🙂 And I love the eye look you got with the palette. So pretty!

Between the two Dior Eye Reviver eyeshadow palettes, if I had to pick, I would go with the Nordy Girl palette – the eyeshadows seemed consistently smooth, and I liked the slight purple-plum undertone that shows up on my darker skin tone.
It’s beautiful. Before I grabbed it I was over purples… this palette totally revived me!

Thank you so much, Ann! I think “60” eyes could totally rock this 😉 It’s not super shiny or shimmery, particularly if you use a matte or translucent base. It’s got dimension too it but I don’t feel like it’s overdone at all. Chanel and Dior are fabulous for having shades that work for all ages. Too many people think that they can’t wear shades because they’re too old, but Chanel and Dior always make them wearable (Chanel always, Dior for the most part lol).
