The Urban Decay Naked Wild West Palette is one of my favorite palettes EVER. It’s an eyeshadow palette that I could truly say is the best palette for me in terms of my age and style. Makeup over 40, I got you.
With mostly neutral matte eye shadows one would definitely jump to the conclusion that this is your same ol’ boring “neutral with a pop of blue.” I politely disagree. It’s neutral with some blue, no doubt. But it’s also both warm and cool. I prefer mostly mattes and since 8 of the shades are matte, I know I’ll use it quite a bit. The 4 shimmer/metallic shades fit my style perfectly and allow me to do looks year-round.
Originally this made me think of the Urban Decay Beached Palette. While there are definite similarities I prefer Naked Wild West because it’s bigger, badder, and the formula is fantastic. Also that packaging. SO beautiful.
And, yes, that is an empty pan you see. After I swatched this my favorite shade in the entire palette, Cowboy Rick, broke when this palette dropped. Like, it broke entirely all over the cement porch, unable to be saved. I am currently still grieving this loss and it’s likely I’ll just give this palette to my daughter and buy myself another one lol.
The Urban Decay Naked Wild West Palette is swatched below dry, on bare skin (no primers), using a sponge-tipped applicator. This photo was taken out in the beautiful sunlight.
