It’s been awhile. You know if I’m coming back hot, it’s for a damn good reason. The Colourpop Fresh Kiss Lip Cremes landed on my doorstep this past week and they’re truly the most beautiful, easiest lip product you’ll EVER WEAR… and they’re only $8 each.
info
The Colourpop Fresh Kiss Lip Cremes are described as having the same pigment that you might find in a lipstick but with the overall feel of wearing a lip balm. The brand states that the formula is lightweight and moussey with buildable coverage and a soft matte finish… keeping lips hydrated all day without the sticky feeling.
12 shades are available in: Alt Rock (warm berry), Page Me (deepened rose wood), Teen Spirit (cool mauve pink), 411 (soft peachy nude), Docs (deepened rich chocolate), Baby Doll (mid-tone warm, nude beige), Strike a Pose (deepened rose), BB Spice (muted pinky nude), Scrunchie (rich deepened red), Let’s Vogue (intense red), Beverly Hills (soft, warm rose), and The Rachel (soft coral).
They’re formulated with Vitamin E to nourish lips, as well as Maracuja Superfruit Oil (known to be rich in essential fatty acids and Vitamin C) to provide extra moisture and support a healthier looking pout.
The claims are HUGE. Of the 4 claims listed on the insert 100% of users ALL SAID their lips felt instantly hydrated, smooth, moisturized, and instantly nourished. 100%.
It’s important to note here that there are no claims listed regarding longevity of wear on the color, only on the hydration.
review
I love the packaging of the Colourpop Fresh Kiss Lip Cremes. The bottle is plastic, but sturdy. Easy to hold while applying. The applicator is perfection. Basically the stuff dreams are made of for me. It’s spongey, small, and tapered (perfect for lining the lips while you work) – making it super easy to apply these.
These lip cremes swatch thickly, but they’re not going to apply that way. Colourpop recommends applying to the lips, starting from the center and blending outward. So, that is exactly what I did.
I wiped the excess off of the applicator and applied at the center, using the tip of the applicator to line my lips to even them out. I smooshed my lips together then used my finger to blend. Teen Spirit ends up being a MLBB situation, which I LOVE.
When I wear the Colourpop Fresh Kiss Lip Cremes it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything but it looks like I have a fresh hint of color. If my lips aren’t moisturized beforehand I do feel a little dry, but I’d feel that way with anything. It’s not uncomfortable either way and a balm or gloss is easy to apply overtop. I’m sensitive to any sort of dry feeling on my lips, so I don’t find that this alone keeps me hydrated all day but it certainly doesn’t dry me out.
The formula isn’t transfer-proof but I do find that once dried down they don’t transfer too much, the lighter shades in particular. Even after a small amount of transfer it didn’t seem to remove any color from my lips.
TBH I’m obsessed. IMO these are comfortable to wear and fun to layer. A solid, awesome launch from Colourpop!
