While luxury beauty products are usually amazing in every way you can still be a smart consumer and save money where you can. Know when to splurge and when to SAVE.
Part of my 3 month beauty no-buy includes purging what I already have. My eyeliner collection is was as bad as my nude lipstick collection, but that ended up working out well in terms of finding affordable, quality dupes for expensive makeup or makeup that is no longer available (NLA).
It’s hard to find that perfect metallic silver and Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Cuff really hits the mark but it’s near twin, Maybelline Tattoo Studio Gel Pencil Liner in Sparkling Silver, looks exactly the same on the eye. Though not quite as creamy feeling the Maybelline one actually stays on my waterline a lot longer than the Urban Decay!
As you’ll notice throughout this post I really can’t recommend the Maybelline Tattoo Studio Gel Pencil Liners enough (<<< review is linked).
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Cuff ($22.00)
- Maybelline Tattoo Studio Gel Pencil Liner in Sparkling Silver ($8.99)
Who doesn’t love a deep beautiful teal? Always on point Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Mainline is literally perfect. If it’s a little out of your budget the Maybelline Tattoo Studio Gel Pencil Liner in Deep Teal is a perfect dupe!
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Mainline ($22.00)
- Maybelline Tattoo Studio Gel Pencil Liner in Deep Teal ($8.99)
Yes, back on the UD train, but this one gets a little tricky. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Invasion is no longer available (NLA). Colourpop Creme Gel Liner in Fast Lane is not currently on their site as a single, but it is on their site in a box set (hopefully to pop back up as a single again soon!). I find the only con to Colourpop over UD is that the CP tend to dry out a little more quickly.
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Invasion ($22.00 & NLA)
- Colourpop Creme Gel Liner in Fast Lane ($5.50 – code 5BLUSHINGNOIR saves you $5 off your purchase of $20+ exclusions apply)
Ardency Inn Modster Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliner in Dark Blue was the dark blue liner that you could put on and just KNOW that it wasn’t going anywhere. Sadly, it’s no longer available. L’Oreal Silkissime Eyeliner in Cobalt Blue is also nearing extinction but is still currently available on Amazon.
- Ardency Inn Modster Smooth Ride Supercharged Eyeliner in Dark Blue ($19.00 & NLA)
- L’Oreal Silkissime Eyeliner in Cobalt Blue ($6.90)
Words can’t express how strong my love was and still is for MAC Kohl Power in Orpheus. Every time it released I bought several. I’m down to a sole one and save it to find dupes. ELF Waterproof Metallic Liner in Bronze Age is that dupe. It appears to be sold out on the ELF website however there is a little “notify me” button, so here’s hoping that it’s not actually gone. I may die.
- MAC Kohl Power in Orpheus ($16.00 & NLA)
- ELF Waterproof Metallic Liner in Bronze Age ($4.00)
It’s so completely hard for me to find a truly matte black eyeliner pencil that doesn’t run down my face (yes, even the waterproof tend to do this). For a long time Jouer Slim Creme Eyeliner in Matte Black was all I had. Then Maybelline Lasting Drama Matte Pencil in Jet Black entered my life and happiness was had.
- Jouer Slim Creme Eyeliner in Matte Black ($16.00)
- Maybelline Lasting Drama Matte Pencil in Jet Black ($7.49)
Some of the dupes are spot on and others are a hair off in the swatches. On the eye, they’re completely identical. I made sure to take this swatch pic outside in natural lighting with very little sunlight so you can be sure to notice the true colors and undertones of each shade.
I know there are only 6 eyeliner pencils duped here. I know that. BUT hopefully it helped you find or replace a lost beauty love. Many more dupes exist out there and I’d love for you to share a few of your faves in the comments below.
