For Fall 2015 François Nars was inspired by the eyes, “It just seemed like the collection needed to revolve around eyes and especially how eye color and texture can convey not just character and mood but a period in time, be it an era or a decade or even a season.” Born from that vision is a 14 piece collection comprised of 8 Velvet Shadow Sticks, 2 Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows, 2 Lip Glosses, 1 Lipstick and 1 Blush.
In this post I have 2 of the Velvet Shadow Sticks, in Hollywoodland and Sukhothai, and both of the Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows, in Telesto and Pasiphae, to show you.
Packaging of all of the products is the normal rubbery black with white writing.
Velvet Shadow Stick ($28.00 // NARS). 8 shades are released of this new product and the two shown here are Hollywoodland (pale gold) and Sukhothai (shimmering peacock). These are lovely shades to use to apply to the lid to really make your eye shadows pop. While I was not able to wear them alone without creasing they stay the day with a secondary primer (such as NARS Smudge Proof) underneath. I found the formula smooth to apply and easy to blend.
Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow ($29.00 // NARS). 2 new Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow colors are released and both are shown here in Telesto (brown with gold shimmer) and Pasiphae (shimmering peacock burgundy).
I’m a big fan of the Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows as a whole. Even though they can be worn wet or dry I always find that they have excellent pigment regardless and stay nicely all day over a primer. They apply smoothly and evenly and are easy to blend.
Below these shades are swatched with no primers underneath:
Can we just take one more look at Pasiphae? The shift of color is so beautiful. I can’t stop looking at this shadow!
I thought it was really cool when I took out all of the light in the pic that Pasiphae appeared to glow in the dark! Such a fun effect!

In the eye look below I applied NARS Smudge Proof as a base to hold the shadows all day long. I put NARS Hollywoodland Velvet Shadow Stick at the inner third of the eye and blended with my finger. Next I put NARS Sukhothai Velvet Shadow Stick on the rest of the lid. NARS Pasiphae Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow is patted all along the lid where Sukhothai is and NARS Telestro Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow is passed where Hollywoodland is and blended into Pasiphae as well as through and above the crease. Colorpop Onai Super Shock Shadow was used as a highlight shade. The top liner is NARS Carpates Eyeliner Stylo and the bottom is NARS Via Veneto Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner. The mascara is Benefit Roller Lash.
This collection is available on NARSCosmetics.com, NARS boutiques on July 15th then at Sephora, department (such as Nordstrom), and specialty stores on August 1st, 2015.
