Revlon PhotoReady™ Primer, Shadow + Sparkle Swatches, Review & Easy Eye Look + GIVEAWAY!

November 18, 2013

All sample products reviewed were provided by Revlon

I’m all for easy peasy looks-to-go. That being said, I don’t want to look like I just threw some color on my face and ran out the door. No one needs to see that. One of the best things to do to get out the door with awesome eyeballs that will pull your whole face together is to have that perfect, ready-made palette that tells you what to do and where to do it.

Revlon1

The Revlon PhotoReady™ Primer, Shadow + Sparkle palette makes it easy to create limitless looks using five shades - 3 highly pigmented shadows, a primer and a sparkle top coat (which I just dab very sparingly at the center of my lid to widen my eyes and make my irises sparkle *wink*).

The shades are super pigmented on the lid when used dry, but if you’re a showstopper you can absolutely wear them wet for more color intensity. Of the shades I was able to sample, I have three to share with you today: 520 Watercolors, 525 Avant Garde and 505 Impressionist.

RevlonPhotoReady RevlonPhotoReady2

Let’s just kick it off royally, shall we? Purples can be worn all year long. I don’t care what anyone says, if you have the right set of purples, it doesn’t need to be lilac at Spring and Plums in the Fall.

The Revlon PhotoReady™ Primer, Shadow + Sparkle in Watercolors gives off the most perfectly subtle and vintage purple shades when used dry, but dab them on with a bit of water and get ready for vibrant and saturated colors.

IMG_1226Revlon Watercolors2

If you want to work blue eye shadows with a bit of sparkle but want to stay away from that lid-to-brow 80’s “scare the mailman deal,” definitely check out Revlon PhotoReady™ Primer, Shadow + Sparkle in Avant Garde, which has a beautiful cerulean blue (when wet), navy and icy blue and white shades that may look intimidating, but actually create quite a come hither sexy-time look.

IMG_1220Revlon Avant Garde2

The third and final palette is my favorite because it’s that palette of neutrals that I could reach for every single day, the Revlon PhotoReady™ Primer, Shadow + Sparkle in Impressionist. This group of shadows features shades of ivory, taupe and brown which are essential for every beauty maven, regardless of style or eye color. This particular palette is one of those rare breeds that will also work for almost every skin tone.

IMG_1233 Revlon Impressionist2

Even though the pigment looks richer when swatched wet, I did the look below by using the shades dry and over primer. I still feel like it created a gorgeous combo and the pigment certainly isn’t lacking!

Revlon2 Revlon3

I’m loving the Revlon PhotoReady™ Primer, Shadow + Sparkle palettes and can’t wait to check out more, especially Muse from the new Evening Opulence Collection Collection!
