For June 2012, MAC has collaborated with artist Beth Ditto and released a collection just as passionate as she is.
MAC Beth Ditto is a decent sized collection with products ranging from our favorite Pro Longwear Lipcremes, to an awesome and versatile eye & cheek palette, to the new Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner.
The Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner is a new product for MAC, and they’ve released four of them as a launchpad to what will hopefully be more! The four duos released with the Beth Ditto Collection are Little Miss Moffet, Beth Mask, Beth or Glory, and today’s post of Drag, Strip.
What the MAC website has to say about Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner:
Premiering in this collection – a dual-ended pairing of Eye Shadow and Greasepaint Liner for the perfect smoky eye. 0.85 g / 0.03 US oz
Drag, Strip is described as smokey navy liner/pale blue shadow. As I applied Strip all over the lid, it was looking rather patchy and chalky. I used my finger to try and smooth it out and made more of a mess. I applied a little more and added a shadow on top and, HUZZUH, beauteous! I added Drag into the look and then also put a shadow over it since it dried rather quickly and I was having blending issues.
You can see in the EOTD photo below that when you add a shadow on top of the product, it looks phenomenal and absolutely makes the shadow pop. I found the Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner to be a bit temperamental, but easy to tame to submission. I really like the idea of it being dual ended for a complementing pair of shades.
For this EOTD I put down UDPP as a base and put a layer of Strip all over the lid. I then took a bit of MAC Cloudy Afternoon MES and added that on top. Using Drag I colored in the crease and outer V, blending MAC Nautical Navy Eye Shadow over top. I also used Cloudy Afternoon to highlight. The mascara is MAC Blue Charge Zoom Lash.

MAC Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner retails for $22.00 and can be purchased at your local MAC counter or store, as well as at maccosmetics.com. Drag, Strip is listed as limited edition.
