Yes, I’m fully aware that it is now August but better late than never! It wasn’t that I didn’t like what was in the July 2019 Boxycharm, it’s more-so that time got the better of me throughout this entire month + we weren’t around that much.

Since I just got charged for my August Boxycharm I thought it best to get this July one up ASAP!

The theme of the July 2019 Boxycharm is Au Naturale.

what is boxycharm

Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription box filled with 5-6 luxury items, 4 of which will always be full-sized. The monthly cost of Boxycharm is $21 but if you subscribe for 3, 6, 9 or 12 months you’ll receive a slight discount on the monthly boxes (down to $19.25). Renewals are automatic but you can cancel at any time.

Each Boxycharm box has a minimum value of $100 and you’ll receive anything from makeup to skincare to beauty tools. With some products shades can vary though with other products all boxes will have them included.

Luxie Gaea 3-pc Brush Set ($30.00). This eco-friendly set will help create the perfect look! You’ll receive the 510 Foundation Brush, the 250 Large Eye Blending Brush and the 246 Precision Crease Brush.

As I’m sure you know I’m a huge fan of Luxie brushes and am happy to receive any and all always. Especially eye brushes! The quality is on point & they are always stand-out as top performing tools.

Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask ($35.00). This treatment mask is said to nourish, smooth and brighten for softer, smoother, more radiant skin.

This does have Denatured Alcohol which can strip and dry skin over time. Those with oily skin can tend to benefit from this. However, I have oily skin and this type of ingredient will make me break out, especially when it’s at the top of the ingredient list. In the case of this mask from Elemis it’s somewhere near the upper middle which does give me pause. When it’s towards the end I don’t have a problem but I don’t know that I want to roll the dice with this one.

Luna by Luna Lip Gloss ($18.00). I received the shade Mars. This is stated to be a non-sticky, smooth, pigmented lip gloss that delivers high shine with long-lasting color all while delivering the look of fuller lips.

I saw the shimmer in the tube and was like “meh… about to feel some grit”. Nope. This feels amazing and adds a comfortable glossy look to my lips. I don’t find it to be sticky feeling or goopy. While I don’t think it’s incredibly pigmented at all I do love. For me, this shade is perfect.

This is a variation item. Other subscribers may also receive the Alamar Las Des-Nude-As Lip Gloss or Alamar Mother of Pearl Gloss (all gloss shades will vary). 

Koh Gen Do Spa Cleansing Water Cloths ($17.00). Convenient, cotton cloths that remove waterproof makeup and impurities while nourishing skin with mineral-rich cleansing spa water.

This is probably my most favorite skincare product to ever live in a subscription box. If they put these in every single time my heart would sing 90’s Boyz II Men R&B songs all day. 

The retail price above is for the pack of 10 cloths however on the Koh Gen Do website & Sephora website the retail price is listed as $23.00.

This is a variation item. Other subscribers may also receive the Appeal Gel Eyeliner (shades will vary) or a PUR Eyelash Curler. 

Butter London Natural Goddess Eyeshadow Palette ($32.00). This palette includes six highly-pigmented, long-lasting shades in Enchantress, Queen, Star, Diva, Temptress and Femme Fatale.

I was impressed with the feel of the shadows as well as the performance. While I love how the metallics look I do wish there would have been at least one other neutral matte (I have a great love affair with matte eyeshadow and can’t get enough of it!). Supurb overall, though!

final thoughts

Was the box worth the money? YES! 

What is always interesting to me about Boxycharm is that there are always products included that I’d never think to buy myself but that I always end up discovering I love. In this particular box, aside from the Elemis Mask, I love everything that was sent and am impressed with the quality of all of the items! If the mask wouldn’t have contained denatured alcohol I’d have been all over it.

Overall, I’m still loving that this box continues to contain products from highly trending brands as well as products I’ll get use out of.
