The Urban Decay Beached Collection is Summer 2018’s answer to playful, glowing days and sultry, sexy nights. The packaging alone is enough to make me want to go on vacation with the baby blue base and inviting palm trees. Just sign me up for wherever this is because I want to live in that space forever.
what is it
Eight pieces make up the limited edition Urban Decay Beached Collection and each pairs perfectly with the other. Below each product has their own little section so you can read my (spoiler alert) glowing love for all of the things.
But, don’t worry, I’ll speak on the must-haves at the end of the review section. 😉
review
Eyeshadow Palette ($34.00). The Beached Eyeshadow Palette contains 8 brand-new shades ranging from bluer than the ocean turquoise to beautiful copper tones.
Salt (ivory satin), Heatwave (metallic rust), 16th St. (metallic bronze-gold), Plunge (deep metallic blue-green), Blaze (light metallic peach with pink shift), Daybreak (deep reddish terra-cotta matte), Double Dip (bright metallic teal) and Wedge (deep metallic brown-copper)
Did you ever get the sense that an eyeshadow palette was personally made for you? That’s the way I feel about Beached. I love that I can easily create a wearable look for day and then add some color or deeper shades for evening.
I found that the consistency and quality of the shades was fabulous and I didn’t find an issue with wearing, applying or blending any of them. The metallics can be worn wet to amp them up but if you’re going understated for day that won’t be necessary. Even for evening I found that the only shade I wanted to amp up was Blaze.
These neutral, smoky bronzes are totally me and I can never help but drool when I look at stunning blue toned shadows. Urban Decay seems to know those shades best and currently I feel that this is their best palette of the year… dare I say ever.
Bronzer ($30.00). Two Beached Bronzers are available with this collection in Bronzed (medium-dark matte) and Sun-Kissed (light-medium matte).
I’m loving these matte bronzers and they’re a necessary addition to your Summer makeup arsenal. Sun-Kissed is definitely more my shade but I even love to use bronzed when I’m going for a little “more”. They apply, blend and last to perfection.
Do these sound and look familiar? Well, they should because they were also released in 2016 so double-check your collection… it may be time for a backup!
24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil ($20.00). There are two 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils featured in the Beached Collection – Lucky (metallic burnt orange) and Goldmine (gold shimmer w/ gold micro-sparkle).
Goldmine is permanent while Lucky is listed as new with this collection. To some, Lucky won’t be a new shade because we’ve seen it before and it was discontinued. I for one am really happy to see it back since it’s one of my old favorites. The outer color is misleading and let’s you believe the shade is much more copper while the swatch gives it a true bronze tone. Perfect for Summer!
Wear time for me is consistent with that of all of Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, I get about 6 on the waterline and all-day wear on the upper lash line. Nice pigment, smooth to apply and the micro-glitters do not bother my sensitive eyes.
Vice Lipstick ($18.00). Three Vice Lipstick shades are featured in the Beached Collection – 100 Degrees (bright coral-pink), Heatwave (metallic rust) and Tower1 (shifty metallic peach).
Every one of these lipsticks is intimidating at first glance but they are all wearable and look beautiful layered.
100 Degrees is that go-to sheer summer popsicle shade that everyone wants and because it’s not completely opaque it’s wearable both day and night.
Tower1 looks beautiful over 100 Degrees, giving it more of a peachy and slightly glittery (but not gritty) appearance. It’s also completely stunning on it’s own and hits the light just right when you’re in the sun.
Heatwave is also so stunning on it’s own but looks really sparkly layered with Tower1. I also love wearing 100 Degrees dabbed over-top.
Wear-time for these is just a couple of hours for me if I’m not eating or drinking heavily. Out of them all do not miss out on picking up 100 Degrees. It’s comfortable and completely on-trend for the season.
Note: When I took the pics I accidentally omitted the shade Heatwave from the photos but it is swatched below with the rest of the collection.

Urban Decay Beached Summer Makeup Collection – Vice Lipstick, 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil & Bronzer Swatches
My must-haves for this collection if I were to go out and buy it would be the Beached Eyeshadow Palette, 100 Degrees Lipstick and Lucky 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil. I’m completely enamored with that palette, 100 Degrees is going to be the shade of the season and TBH Lucky deserves even a back-up purchase.

Thanks for sharing this information. I really like your blog post very much. You have really shared an informative and interesting blog post with people.
I about to say bad words – you can make anything look awesome (and I can’t)! You have sold me on the lippie! Even at my age, I could see me doing a slightly more subtle eye with those colors. I just have to slap my hands; I cannot buy yet another eye palette, but you make it all so tempting! Except for bronzers, they all go orange on me once they mix with the oils in my skin. I’ve given up on them unless I’m only wearing them in the evening for about 2 hrs. Otherwise, oompha loompa – I have the same trouble with self-tanners and foundation.
lmfaoooo! That 100 Degrees lippie is life. I put it on my vanity with all of my neutrals because I’m absolutely wearing it as much as possible this Summer. It’s in the coveted spot of makeup of my life lol the same with that palette! Ugh. UD is killing me because every release I’m like NO THIS ONE is my fave… NO. THIS ONE IS. LOL But for real, Beached takes the cake so far this year, of them ALL!
So lovely post. I like it. Thanks so much for the good post.
