I talk a lot about makeup brushes – the Top Makeup Brushes Under $10, the Top Makeup Brushes from IT Cosmetics, Affordable Unicorn Makeup Brush Sets and The Best Drugstore Brands for Affordable Makeup Tools – to name a few. They’re obviously an obsession of mine. But when I find a brush I LOVE, I have to own it several times over. Mostly because I’m too lazy to wash them as frequently as they should be. BUT I really think it says something when a beauty blogger likes a makeup brush or tool so much that they buy several or over 10 (I’m looking at you, MAC 239).
Here are the makeup brushes and tools that I love SO MUCH I buy them over and over (and sometimes more over and over) again:
MAC 239. There is no other brush that compares to this. It’s a flat paddle brush for applying eyeshadow and it’s just firm enough to get a max amount of pigment with little-to-no fallout but pliable enough to be easy to work with.
MAC 224 Tapered Blending Brush. My original go-to for blending all the things. In each look I do I blend like crazy and use at least two blending brushes. While I have many blending brushes from a ton of brands this particular one is my fave.
MAC 219 Pencil Brush. Another OG go-to but this one is for more detailed work such as putting shadows under the eye, a sharp color in the outer-V or smudging out liner.
Urban Decay Perversion Angled Brush. WHY am I just now noticing this isn’t available?! I’m actually panicking. I have two, but now that it’s gone I’m stressed that I don’t have four… the Urban Decay Pro Angled Eyeliner Brush looks similar, so I’m probably going to give that a go just in case!
Bobbi Brown Ultra Precise Eyeliner Brush. I saw this little gem and thought it would be perfect for giving me that sharp point at the end of my wing that I have such a problem with… and it totally does. PLUS if you’re just wanting a very thin line along your lashes this will be your best friend.
IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7. This is a dual-sided brush for powders and concealers. It’s travel-friendly and amazing for buffing out cream products.
IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Flat Top Buffing Foundation Brush #6. This was the FIRST brush that introduced me to applying powders with a flat top kabuki… it’s dense so if you want your powders to give you the maximum amount of coverage then you definitely need this brush.
IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe No Tug Dual Eyeshadow Brush #5. PERFECT for dusting color on the lid or applying a brow color. I use this brush when I’m doing a quick, no-brainer makeup day. The other side is perfect for placing color under the eye and smudging.
Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush. Basically the exact same as the IT Cosmetics #6 but almost half the price and ever so slightly more dense. They perform the same in terms of powder products but I like this one better for other creams.
Sigma 3DHD Kabuki Brush. If you’re like me and adore a full coverage, matte foundation you NEED this brush. I’m not kidding, buy two when you grab it because you’ll want at least that. It applies foundations like Estee Lauder Double Wear (my fave) to it’s maximum capacity coverage in ONE pass. Which means that you don’t have to layer anything or cake it on to get full coverage. I’m covering up some things over here and while I liked Double Wear with the beautyblender and other brushes I LOVED IT when I used the Sigma 3DHD.
Cailyn O! WOW Brush. This is the newest brush that I’ve added to my faves. While I’ve never used brushes that are similar the O! WOW Brush has been essential for me when I’m using a foundation that isn’t as heavy (I love to use it with the Wet N Wild Photo Focus but it works like a charm with ALL formulas that I tested it against.).
*NOTE: The brush holder shown in the pic above is from the collab that Zahra Beauty did with Coffee Break With Dani. It was limited edition and no longer available, but you can purchase a similar one here.
Obviously there are other makeup brushes that I like and even love, but these are the ones I need many multiples of and just can’t live without. The MAC brushes I’ve used for at least 8 years, the 239 probably even longer. I keep buying them because I love em… and clearly they last.
