December 2012 Birchbox Review & Photos

I’m happy to report that the December Birchbox was much better than the November Birchbox.  WOOOO!  I think November was just an unlucky month for me, because other Birchbox-ers made out (see Pink Sith’s – totally different!).

As you open the box there is a card resting on top of the tissue paper that tells you about the theme of the December Box (which is All Wrapped Up) and on the back tells you what is inside.

Below the card lies a little tag.  The card says to add it to your most creatively wrapped holiday gift and share on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.   I think this idea is cute, but it’s not likely something I’ll do.  My wrapping is so last minute lately =\

Under the tissue paper are this month’s goodies!
First, from amika we have the Obliphica Nourishing Mask.  This hair mask is said to boost shine and help to repair split ends.  I love hair masks.  My hair really needs all the help it can get, so I can’t wait to try this out!

Next, from Juice Beauty is the Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream.  CC = Color Control, and what this does is naturally improve skin tone with vitamin C and grape-derived resveratrol.  This product nicely evens tone and I do like to use it before I apply my normal makeup for the day.

The third item is from Juicy Couture and is their signature fragrance.  It’s heavy on the floral and a little too strong for my liking.  It’s not offensive, and actually smells okay, I just wouldn’t be able to wear it.

The final item is from ModelCo and is the SHINE Ultra Lip Gloss.  My shade is in Strip Tease and it’s a sheer iridescent peach.  Really beautiful & gives the lips a glossy effect.  It smells and tastes awesome but is high on the sticky factor.

There is also a “gift card” in here for $50 at Rent the Runway, which is awesome if you’re actually planning on using the service for the holidays.  You have to spend at least $125 to use the $50, so this will go to waste for me if I can’t gift it to someone else.

The Lifestyle Extra for this month comes to us from Emily’s Chocolates.  It’s the Dark Chocolate Peppermint Holiday Fortunes.  It’s a chocolate peppermint covered fortune cookie and is tastes SO FREAKING GOOD.  So crunchy and tasty.  My fortune read “A very happy holiday is in your future”.  WOOOO!
