The theme for this months Birchbox is Soak it Up!. Encouraging you to absorb every last minute of Summer that you can!
As you open your Birchbox the card resting on top gives you a little explanation and greeting on one side and a run down of what is in your box on the other side.
What’s inside?
From St. Tropez, Gradual Tan In Shower. I am so excited for this. I’ve heard about it and have been dying to try it out because the words “in shower” scream convenience. I have a wedding to go to this weekend and I’ll be using this a few days before hand to prep. Follow me on Instagram for updates!
From Oribe, Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray. This spray is just wonderful for getting perfectly tousled waves. This is my first chance to try it out and it works just as well, if not better, than other wave sprays that I’ve tried. Definitely a keeper!
From theBalm® cosmetics, Balm Desert® Bronzer/Blush. This bronzer is pigmented enough for light skin, but not super intense so it’s perfect for wear during the day or in the office. My only complaint is the size of the sample. The packaging is super cute but because the pan is so small it’s hard to get it on my bronzer brush. I actually thought it was an eye shadow at first… and I’ll likely use it as one in addition to a bronzer!
From Shea Terra Organics, Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Facial Cleanser. This cleanser is 100% natural and while I’d love to try it I’m experiencing a major break out and have to stick to the stuff that I’m absolutely sure gets that under control. Based off of online reviews it seems like overall people love how well this cleans out pores, though the smell is a little off.
From Balance Me, Congested Skin Serum. This is actually a skincare item that would benefit my breakouts right now, but because my breakouts can get out of hand I like to stick to what I know. From online reviews it seems that people like it, but that it leaves a film behind after use so it’s best to put it on in the evening.
At first glance I wasn’t impressed with this months Birchbox. However, after actually trying the products out I have to say this is one of my favorite months in a long time! Three of the five products are must-have loves (well, one is pending use but I like the other reviews!) and the other two are simply skincare products that I can’t use, but that appear to look nice. I’m beyond excited for the three loves so that makes this months box a winner for me!!
The thing Birchbox really has going above all the rest is their rewards/referral system which gives you 10 points per review and 50 points per referral. When you get 100 points it equals $10 to spend in their shop – which is FULL of greatness. So, for example, if you review all 5 items for 2 months you get your 100 points and you’re getting your $10 back to shop with. Personally I like to hoard mine until I get to about $100 and then go on a spree when I need a bit of a pick me up. You also get points for shopping (they’ll send you codes via email) and extra goodies you can add into your cart.
Wanna sign up for Birchbox? (Click for referral) If you like what you see in this post go to the website and fill out the form. It’s just $10 a month (free shipping too!) and you get some cool stuff (I got a FULL SIZE beautyblender one month!), tho I will warn you, you’re going to get stuff you hate as well. I used to say that after it’s all said and done throughout the year you do get your money’s worth, but so far this year it’s not looking good.
***Disclosure – I buy my own Birchbox, but the links posted here do give me referral points which I can use towards product on the site. Once you sign up for your own Birchbox, you’ll also get a referral code to send out to others and get some points of your own!
