Butter London is REALLY coming out with some seriously stunning eyeshadow palettes! Sure, eyeshadows aren’t new to the brand by any means (their Glazen palettes are TDF) but in the last 2 months I’ve gotten two eyeshadow palettes from them that have been PHENOMENAL… particularly the matte shades and you know I love my mattes.
The first one was Natural Goddess, which I shared in last month’s Boxycharm unboxing. This one I’m sharing today, Butter London Teddy Girl Eyeshadow Palette, is the second one that has me drooling.
what is it
The Butter London Teddy Girl Eyeshadow Palette is a “fun, highly pigmented 9-piece eye shadow palette” that “revives the 1950s to pay homage to the alluring, sharply-suited Teddy Girls and their rebellious spirit”. Each color is said to be creamy, buildable, wearable for everyday and carry intense color payoff.
The 9 eyeshadow shades that are included in this palette are:
Beatrice (matte warm brown), Poppy (matte pale nude), Ella (copper duo chrome metallic), Pippa (matte pale peach), Matilda (matte burnt orange), Lucile (rose gold shimmer), Lottie (cranberry metallic), Iris (pink-peach duo chrome metallic) and Penelope (matte spiced wine)
review
I’m completely blown away by the Butter London Teddy Girl Eyeshadow Palette. Every shade is super smooth and easy to work with but those mattes are just out of this world. I’m adding Butter London to the very short list of brands that I would like an all matte (except for one sort of understated shimmer that can be used at the inner corner) neutral eyeshadow palette. Like I could take their matte formula and 100% make my dream palette.
Over primer the colors lasted all day and you can amp up the shimmers/metallics by applying them wet to a sticky base. I like mine a little more understated so I found that using them dry was more than adequate.
Also really quickly, the packaging is fantastic. It’s not the usual open and shut compact but opens as a double door with a mirror on one side and “looking good dahling” on the other. I love that it’s different and easy to hold, however the side you’re not holding open does begin to shut a bit so you wouldn’t be able to prop it up and use that mirror while applying.
