Can NEW Urban Decay makeup upgrade my beauty routine? Switching up my primer, setting spray, foundation (kind of), powder, concealer and blush to review on my oily, aging, acne-prone skin.
Okay, so not all of the products above are brand spanking newness from Urban Decay. But, most are new-to-newish and certainly new to me.
Currently I’m incredibly happy with my current face makeup routine, which already includes using the Urban Decay Stay Naked Weightless Foundation since this past August. How do I know it’s been 6 months already? I checked my ULTA Beauty orders because I purchased this myself and loved it. The PR sample of the product just came last month and I was very excited to score a backup of my current fave foundation!
How am I currently wearing this foundation? As you know I’m oily and it seems like while this foundation is marketed for all skin types it’s been a bit of a total miss for people. For others like me it’s a total love. I believe it’s all in how you’re wearing and applying. You have to find out what works best for YOU and your own skin type. If in the last decade you’ve found that we have similar skin types and similar ways that makeup wears on us, this routine might work for you!
First I prep my skin with my morning skincare routine. This routine is pretty basic – cleanser, moisturizer and eye cream. I let that sink in and follow with my usual primer.
After primer I do any color correcting needed followed up with a spray of Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. Once dry I use Urban Decay Stay Naked Weightless Foundation (applied with this brush) followed by another shot of the setting spray. After that I spot correct using this pot concealer then disguise my undereye darkness with my usual concealer and holy grail setting powder. I let that powder sit for a bit then brush off using a powder foundation (I know, but I need the coverage and this routine actually gives a much lighter look than you’d think) and apply blush/bronzer followed by another spritz of setting spray.
Since I’m always looking to improve makeup longevity I’m 100% down to test out the new, new products which are the Urban Decay All Nighter Ultra Matte Makeup Setting Spray and the Urban Decay All Nighter Face Primer. I’ll also be adding in a few other face products sent which are the Urban Decay Stay Naked Correcting Concealer, Urban Decay Stay Naked The Fix Powder Foundation, Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder and Urban Decay Stay Naked Threesome.
With these new(ish) launches from Urban Decay, I can test out all of the products together and see if they’ll help or hinder my current routine.
I’ll report back in a few weeks and let you know the results. In the meantime, let me know in the comments if you’ve tried any of the above and how you’re wearing them!
Thank you so much what a fantastic blog. I’m looking 50 in the eye and I’m trying to be more confident with trying new makeup. This really helped!
Nice beauty product review. Need to give a try.
I have tried the UD eyeshadow and it was okay. I should try some more products from them.

Hi Brooke,
I was on the verge of picking up something just before Christmas but was in a hurry and couldn’t decide! So far, I’ve only used the eye palettes. I will stop by again so see how you get on – my skin is also oily and aging – not so much acne-prone – but I’d like to see what you make of the concealer and foundation. I’ve noted you’re a fan of the weightless foundation which I must check out. ?
I do adore the foundation 100% (the acne prone is just basically did the product break me out and it doesn’t =)). The concealer (spoiler alert lol) I’m finding to be a little too drying for me. It’s okay but definitely not better than Tarte Shape Tape. A close second for me concealer-wise is Covergirl TruBlend Undercover or Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.
I love the all nighter spray, really does keep makeup fresh! Besides the eyeshadow I haven’t tried much else from UD in terms of face products!
