The May 2019 Boxycharm theme is Make Waves. It’s filled with products that appear to be perfect for wearing in this transitional weather period we’re having as well as some products listed as being brand new to the market!
what is boxycharm
Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription box filled with 5-6 luxury items, 4 of which will always be full-sized. The monthly cost of Boxycharm is $21 but if you subscribe for 3, 6, 9 or 12 months you’ll receive a slight discount on the monthly boxes (down to $19.25). Renewals are automatic but you can cancel at any time.
Each Boxycharm box has a minimum value of $100 and you’ll receive anything from makeup to skincare to beauty tools. With some products shades can vary though with other products all boxes will have them included.
To find out how to best use the products received in the monthly box you can check out tutorials and looks shared by the “Charmer” community on social media.
Members are treated to exclusive offers from the best brands in beauty. You’ll also be eligible to win free products through giveaways and receive reward points which are redeemable in the Boxycharm Charm Shop.
what’s inside
GLAMGLOW Gentlebubble Cleanser ($28.00). A gentle but bubbly daily conditioning gel cleanser that is said to effectively cleanse skin and dissolve makeup. The formula includes oat amino acids to condition while apple extract, vitamin E and green tea extract bubble up to deep clean and remove impurities. It’s soap, fragrance and SLS/SLES-free.
This is a variation item. Other subscribers may also receive the First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Water Cream.
Alamar Colorete Blush Trio ($22.00). I received the Fair/Light trio. Other shades in Medium/Tan and Dark/Rich will also be sent out based on the skin tone range that you chose in your sign-up survey.
This new blush trio is said to be buttery smooth, highly pigmented and completely vegan. A “sun-kissed flush without the damage of the rays”.
This is a variation item. Other subscribers may receive the Milk Makeup Blur Stick.
Ciate London Eye Lustre Creme Eyeshadow ($22.00). I received the shade Cupid, which is described as a “universal rose gold”. Ice is the only other shade available, so there is a chance you’ll receive that one instead of Cupid.
This metallic, glittering liquid eye shadow is stated to give “long-lasting, shimmering eye shadow looks” and is also touted as being able to be swiped on for full coverage lustre & blended out for a sheer sparkle. It’s also able to be applied over any eyeshadow shade as a topper.
This is a variation item. Other subscribers may receive the PUR Cosmetics PRO Eyelash Curler.
Dose of Colors Liquid Matte Lipstick ($18.00). I received the shade Berry Me. Shades sent will vary.
These liquid lipsticks are said to have a “velvety, high-fashion matte finish which envelops lips in rich, long-wearing color”. The formula will apply as a creamy liquid then dry to an “ultra-comfortable matte finish”.
This is a variation item. Other subscribers may receive a lip product from Steve Laurent, Oryza or Luna.
Mellow Brow Definer ($18.00). I received the shade Chocolate. I imagine shades will vary.
Touted as being a “non-greasy, easy glide formula” this brow pencil has a triangular tip which they say is for easily making hairlike strokes. The formula is said to be long-lasting.
This is a variation item. Other subscribers may receive a pencil type product from Bodyography or others.
final thoughts
Was the box worth the money? YES!
Really the only thing out of this months box that I don’t love is the Mellow Brow Definer and that’s just because of my personal preferences. When it comes to brow pencils I prefer a small tip that’s easy to make the strokes with. The tip of the Mellow Brow Definer is great at first but then after one use it’s just too rounded for someone like me who has sparse brows that need built up. The formula was great, though. I wish it came in a skinnier pencil form!
Overall I’m still loving that this box continues to contain products from highly trending brands as well as products I’ll get use out of.
You can still sign up for the May Boxycharm here. HURRY, supplies are limited. (Please note, there is a chance you won’t get the same box as me, as most of the products are variation items).
All of the products listed above are FULL SIZE (except if noted otherwise).
For reference – my box is VERSION 2.
The retail value of the entire May 2019 Boxycharm? $108.00! This boxes’ retail value is much lower than last month’s box, however I still call it a win because I’ll use every single product included. IMO that retail value is well worth the $21 investment.

Thanks for sharing the contents of your Boxycharm box Brooke!
21 dollars is actually a really good price for those products – and with so many full sized ones as well! I love the idea of the transitional weather box – such a good idea! I’ve always wanted to try GlamGlow but I can never justify the price… I think these subscription boxes are such a good way to test out a few products every month for a reasonable price. 🙂
