Because this season has been so brutal I decided to incorporate a few new products into my regime. For the last week I’ve been playing around with some of the new Dove DermaSeries Skincare products and want to give you my initial impressions. Over the course of the next few weeks make sure you’re checking out my Instagram for the updates!
To begin I started off with three products from the Dove Derma line – Dry Skin Relief Face Wash, Dry Skin Relief Body Lotion and Dry Skin Relief Repairing Balm. For the most part I’ve been using these products on my body, even though the one is promoted as being for the face. My skin type on my face is very oily but on the rest of my body I’m super dry, yet sensitive. It’s my hope that the Dove Dry Skin Relief Face Wash will work well on my dry, itchy skin. Particularly on my legs (my knees get crazy dry patches!).
In addition to using the Dove Derma Repairing Balm on my legs and body I’m also focusing this on my hands. I’m pretty good about keeping my hands moisturized but with so much sickness going around plus a new puppy to take care of I’ve been washing my hands and cleaning double time. This is making for some really painful, dry areas especially between my fingers. Because the Dove DermaSeries line is specifically formulated to treat severely dry, rough skin I think it’ll be essentially at healing my hands and body to get back on track for Summer.
Over the course of these first 7 days I’ve noticed a definite change in my hands especially. I’ve been sick this week so I’ve been scrubbing my hands and cleaning up after myself more than usual, so my hands should really be suffering. Right now they feel… normal! Which impressed me because after the wear and tear on them this week they should be anything but normal. I’ve been slathering on the Dove Derma Repairing Balm at night before bed and then placing my manicure gloves over-top. Throughout the day I’ve been using the Dove Derma Dry Skin Relief Body Lotion all over my hands after each wash.
Because the products in this line are fast-absorbing, unscented and non-greasy it’s a mom-friendly, minimal maintenance dream. It’s making a difference in my skin by keeping everything moisturized and hydrated and I’m excited to see where the next few weeks of testing takes me!
