When I look for new skincare that I want to try and incorporate into my routine I’m not looking to try out some fly-by-night MLM brand that just has “claims”. If I’m going to put your brand on my face everything you say better be backed up so much that no matter how I search for it on the internets I’m going to find out you’re telling me the 100% truth about yourself, your company and your products. With that in mind I decided that I would take on the opportunity to try out Colleen Rothschild skincare.

Colleen Rothschild has spent 20+ years behind-the-scenes of skincare manufacturing creating products for other well-known brands. This gave her decades of experience on which ingredients are the best and not just a passing trend. All of the products are a blend of potent plant botanicals and advanced scientific ingredients from around the world. Colleen Rothschild Skincare is formulated with Level E3, an exclusive technology that helps key ingredients work harder and smarter.
For this campaign influencers were given a gift card to pick out a few products from the website that we felt would work well with our skin and easily incorporate themselves into our routine. The products aren’t inexpensive but I was impressed with how far I was able to stretch the gift card and I was able to pick up a ton of items to test out and share with you all. For reference my skin is oily, somewhat sensitive and acne-prone. I’m also in my mid-30’s, so aging is another factor I need to consider in my skincare routine.
The first thing I knew I needed to grab was the Discovery Collection ($95.00). The Discovery Collection is a 7-piece kit which includes some of the best selling products from the Colleen Rothschild line – Radiant Cleansing Balm (1 fl oz), Dual Enzyme Polish (0.5 fl oz), Clarifying Detox Mask (0.5 fl oz), Sheer Renewal Cream (1 fl oz), Extreme Recovery Cream (0.5 fl oz), Face Oil N°9 (0.14 fl oz) and a Muslin Cleansing Cloth all in an exclusive CR Travel Bag. It is a $150 value.
I chose the Discovery Collection because it had several products that I wanted to try out but that I wouldn’t be able to all buy separately. The set is an excellent way to try out some product before you dive in to purchase full size or if you’re looking for something a little more travel-friendly. I was pleased with all of the products in the set – which I didn’t expect. The Cleansing Balm removed all of my makeup efficiently and I particularly loved doing this with the Muslin Cleansing Cloth (which I hadn’t tried from any brand before this). The Dual Enzyme Polish was gritty but my skin actually glowed after I used it. My skin never glows without oil or highlight. I can only use it once a week but it’s a staple in my routine now.
The Extreme Recovery Cream is super moisturizing but not heavy. You don’t need much to give your skin the hydration it needs and it didn’t make me break out. It’s literally exactly what I’ve been looking for in a night cream. I plan to buy the full size of this as well as the eye cream (which I didn’t try but want to try and I completely regret not grabbing it!).
As for my other purchases I went for the Balancing Gel Cleanser, Salicylic Acid Treatment Complex, a full-size of the Sheer Renewal Cream and the Restorative Hand Cream.
The Balancing Gel Cleanser ($38.00) makes my face feel clean, but not dry and stripped after use. The formula includes extracts of Dong Quai and white tea purify, soften, and revitalize dull skin.
I picked up the Salicylic Acid Treatment Complex ($45.00) because of it’s claims of being a must-have for acne-prone skin. It uses Willow Bark and Niacinamide that work synergistically to decrease the appearance of large pores, discoloration and rough texture. This helps to breakouts at bay and promote clear skin. Other than one random zit that I got because I’m sick (isn’t that the worst?! Like we don’t already feel miserable enough please give me a zit to make me feel so much better lol) I haven’t had any new breakouts. I use this once at night every other day.
Even though the Discovery Set had a small size of the Sheer Renewal Cream ($55.00) I was so impressed with what I read on it that I knew I needed the full size also. This cream is prefect for day-time and not only is it oil-free (aka the number one thing I look for) it also provides continuous weightless hydration and promotes new cell turnover to help minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Finally I picked up the Restorative Hand Cream ($28.00) because I’ve been jonesing to find a new, holy grail hand cream to pop on my hands at night. This hand cream is non-greasy and soothing with a combination of an innovative brightening agent and precious Myrrh Extract to help minimize the appearance of aging skin. At first I. thought the scent on this was a little strong but it did fade quickly and, ugh, my hands feel amazing. Even when I wake up the next morning they still feel hydrated.
Skincare is important at ANY age but I feel like when we hit our 30’s we need to be even more diligent about making sure our skin is getting the moisture that it requires to keep fine lines, wrinkles and all of the other signs of aging away. All of these products impressed me and are products that I intend to stick with throughout my daily skincare routine.

I’ve never done much as far as skin care, probably should work on that.

I’ve never heard of this line, but I really want to check them out now! I need that hand cream!
These look like some great products! I needs lots of moisture for the winter.
The Sheer Renewal Cream is going on my list! I love a skin cream that’s light, but hydrating. And anything that helps diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles is a plus for me!
It’s amazing how I knew so little about skincare when I was in my 30’s. No internet to teach me about great brands like Colleen Rothschild. I used Clinique all through my 30’s and lived through it. I like that CR has the discovery kit especially for someone like me who finds fragrance to be important (or lack of fragrance actually).

I used to use that Clinique line also lmao! When I hit my 30’s my skin started to revolt against it lol
Good job on being diligent! Believe me it pays off. I’m obsessed with their face oil
I liked it also! I’ve been looking for a good one that doesn’t feel heavy on me and the sample I got of this has been great so far!
Great extensive review of the line. I will check it out for sure, her products are decently-priced IMO
I like the price too. It’s not inexpensive but it’s not unattainable for quality skincare.
I haven’t tried anything from this brand, and I am so curious to try a few things! Excellent review, Brooke!

I’ve always had to be diligent about skincare, but now in my 30s I REALLY have to be on top of it. If I slip up even once, I’m paying for it for weeks.
Same! Isn’t it terrible?! When I go out and have too many drinks I also pay for it for weeks. I’ve been sick this week so I’ve been making sure to use a lot of hydrating products, which isn’t normal for me, but even though I’m oily my skin tends to dry out a bit in certain areas until I feel better.
