We’re hardly into Spring and already I’m seeing Summer products start to roll out! Before it gets too late the bloggers of Makeup Wars want to share their Favorite Spring Makeup Products with you. Seeing as how I loved the Tartelette Matte palette so much, it’s probably no surprise that I’m even more into the Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette ($45.00 // Sephora).
The Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette has 12 eye shadow shades but unlike the original not all of the shades are matte (though nine are). You’ll get Charmer (off white), Jetsetter (warm taupe), Rocker (shimmering taupe), Smokeshow (black brown), Flower Child (peachy nude), Smarty Pants (tan), Firecracker (bronze copper), Activist (dark brown), Funny Girl (champagne), Sweetheart (peach), Rebel (chestnut brown) and Leader (aubergine).
There is an included step-by-step guide for two looks but the possibilities are endless. The darker matte shades are wonderful to wear even as an eye liner.
I bought this palette in January and I can’t even tell you how much I’ve used it. If you follow me on Snapchat I showed a shot of the palette and how it has dips in some of the shades already. DIPS. I can probably count on one hand how many of my palettes have dips in them. This is the only eye shadow palette I took on my trip to QVC and I use it over all of my different colored bases. The shadows are incredible versatile, smooth and pigmented. There is not even one that I dislike out of all 12. And they smell AMAZING. Like cookies!

In addition to Tartelette in Bloom there are also matte lips that came out for Spring – the Tarteist™ Creamy Matte Lip Paint ($20.00 // Sephora). These have been getting a lot of mixed reviews, it seems based on which Lip Paint you’re trying out. I purchased four of them in Namaste (nude), TBT (mauve), Hangry (berry) and Bae (red).
You know me and names… I almost bought all of the Lip Paint’s because of their names. Budget wise that just wasn’t smart so I settled on the four I thought I’d wear the most. Of the four I bought my favorite is TBT with Bae second. TBT performed the best, almost like a dream. The shade is so gorgeous and it lasted all day long – even with eating and drinking. Around the 8 hour mark some product was missing at the center of the lips but it wasn’t noticeable unless I was really looking for it. Of the four Namaste (surprisingly) didn’t wear as well. Application was a bit patchy and it lasted the shortest amount of time. Wearing it with the liner helped with the staying power but I did find myself constantly checking it and repairing.
I thought the formula was comfortable to wear on all of them and it worked best when I exfoliated my lips lightly beforehand and lined my lips with a liner (I used Urban Decay Ex-Girlfriend 24/7 Lip Pencil for all four. It does alter the color very slightly but looks fabulous and the formulas play well together.). The Lip Paints feel light to wear and apply easily with the sponge-tipped applicator. Based on my experience with these four I’m totally fine with picking up a few more.
