I spent the better part of my years on Earth keeping myself far away from drama. Once I jumped into blogging in 2009 and was immersed into the beauty world I decided drama was okay… especially on the eyes. Lancôme understands me and has products to provide #DramaForDays like the new Drama Liqui-Pencil Longwear Eyeliner ($23.00 // Sephora) and the Hypnôse Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara ($27.50 // Sephora).
Drama Liqui-Pencil Longwear Eyeliner ($23.00 // Sephora). 16 shades are available in this new collection of eyeliners. I think it’s safe to say there is something to suit everyone. These liners are touted as long-wearing and high-intensity and I can absolutely agree with both of those statements. In fact, the liners are more than just “long-wearing”. I’ve worn several of the shades and once they set they do not budge from the top lash line or the bottom under the lower lash line. I’ve washed my makeup off and still seen this on the lower even in the morning.
While the formula is smooth and creamy it’s easy to apply and also manipulate. One of my favorite looks recently is to take Pluie and smudge it on top of a cream colored eye shadow shade. I smudge upwards and then apply a bit more at the lash line which creates kind of a grey ombre effect. Then lots of mascara! Smudge quickly, once this product sets it’s there all day.
Now, you guys know I love to waterline the lower lash line and this product is a bit finicky in that respect – the darker shades more-so than the light. If you have watery, allergy prone eyes… keep reading. My tip: make only one pass across your waterline with the color. Any others will cause the liner to remove in places and come across as patchy. I couldn’t fix it unless I wiped it off completely and started over. It will fade directly on the waterline but as long as you line a bit underneath it won’t disappear on you completely.
I’ve noticed a few complaints that users are having issues with sharpening and I personally have had none. I’ve tried two sharpeners – Make Up For Ever Double Pencil Sharpener and Urban Decay Grind House. I’ve had both of those for years, they’re not by any means new, and they worked very well with these liners.
This product is exclusive to Sephora.
All 16 shades are swatched below left to right: French Lace (matte white), Lamé (metallic white gold), Soleil (bright yellow), Lumiére (metallic silver), Embrase (pearlized grey), Pluie (grey), Pacifique (matte sea green), Paradis (pearlized tropical green), Côte D’azur (blue klein), Parisian Night (pearlized midnight blue), Minuit (matte midnight blue), Baroque (matte lavender), Ampoulé (pearlized purple), Macaron (pink), Brûlée (chocolate brown), Noir Intense (deep black).
Hypnôse Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara ($27.50 // Sephora). Back in high school (I’ll spare you how long ago that was) I exclusively wore Lancôme Mascara! TBH I primarily wore Lancôme all the things. Nowadays you youngins have all the options! The one that is paired up with this collection is the Hypnôse Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara.
Even one coat gives awesome length and lift… two coats gives you even more as well as some thickening. My lashes are prone to sticking together even without mascara (cowlicks for life on my hair, lashes, brows… ugh) and while this mascara obv doesn’t keep that from happening it doesn’t accentuate it either (yes, some mascaras can make the crossing and sticking so much worse for me). The lift lasted the entire day and big eyes were on point 😉
What shades of Lancôme Drama Liqui-Pencil Longwear Eyeliner would you buy first and what looks would you create?
