MAC Bianca B Lipstick Swatches + Review // Giambattista Valli

July 7, 2015

Press Sample/Affiliate Links

The latest MAC collab is with Giambattista Valli who is an Italian born fashion designer. I made the mistake of looking him up on Shopbop and now I want all of the things. More lusts! The brand and designer have teamed up to launch five lipsticks and one Crystal Glaze Gloss all in limited edition packaging. Of the new products I have one lipstick to share with you today in Bianca B.

MAC Bianca B Lipstick Giambattista Valli

The packaging on the lipsticks is my favorite thing ever. The outer color of the lipstick tube matches the inner color but has the same shape and feel as a regular tube of MAC Lipstick. The outer box boasts a pretty white floral pattern that reminds me of some of the looks I’ve seen from Giambattista Valli online.

Bianca B is described as a pale white pink. TBH I don’t see how this could be wearable alone on anyone. Formula wise this has a matte finish and it’s comfortable to wear, but even after exfoliation and making sure your lips are hydrated (yet not wet so that the matte lipstick can actually look matte) it shows off every single flaw – which is due to how light and white the pink is. It’s a very chalky pink shade.

BUT. You can absolutely make this work for you. With shades like this I love to mix them up with sheer glosses. Yes, this totally defeats the matte purpose but if you’re like me you’ll love the pink tube and need it anyway. Below I have Bianca B. swatched plain on my arm and also on my lips. In the bottom swatch pic I layered Le Metier de Beaute Bali Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss on top of MAC Bianca B. Lipstick

Would you work with Bianca B.? Or would you just opt for one of the other 5 lipstick shades in this collab? I love how the tubes match the shades so I’m planning on picking up 2 more once they launch – likely Charlotte and Margherita.

The MAC Giambattista Valli Collection is available select MAC locations and maccosmetics.com beginning July 9, 2015.

This color is not for me, but I do want two of the colors from this collection.

I probably wouldn’t mess with this shade but it looks great with gloss!

Too pale for my skin tone but it can pass for Halloween perhaps?

This reminds me of the whitish lipstick my older sister used to wear in the 60’s.

I’d probably consider getting one of the other colors in the line, but I will say that I kinda wish all their lipsticks were packaged in corresponding tubes like this one!

Way too light for me… but it does remind me of the 60’s like someone mentioned.

Honestly, it looks a tad patchy for my liking, but the color is beautiful! I don’t think I’ll be buying any of these.

Such a pretty tube, but I am grateful that the shades are too light for me. One less thing that I have to own, lol

Gosh it does look darn amazing with the gloss. I’ve been thinking of ways to actually wear the shade alone, but I can’t think of any! Too pale for anyone, methinks!
