For June 2012, MAC has collaborated with artist Beth Ditto and released a collection just as passionate as she is.
MAC Beth Ditto is a decent sized collection with products ranging from our favorite Pro Longwear Lipcremes, to an awesome and versatile eye & cheek palette, to the new Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner.
Vibrant Zoom Lash Mascaras are shown in this collection to work with the energetic product line, and I’m a huge fan of colored mascaras so I had to delve right into these first. Three are released with the Beth Ditto Collection and I have two of them, Blue Charge and New Hue, to share with you today. (Yes, you’ve seen Blue Charge before, along with Plum Reserve, which were released last year around this time with the Colored Zoom Lash Mascara line).
What the MAC website has to say about Zoom Lash Mascara:
Major drama. Lasts all day. Creamy, velvety formula builds density and conditions. Feels light, supple. Ultra-sculpted brush has three-sided fibres to embrace and separate each lash, hugging every curve. Coats in one stroke from root to tip. No smudging.
8 g / 0.28 US oz
Blue Charge is described as a deep navy blue, but I thought it looked like more of a vibrant royal blue.
New Hue is described as a blackened burgundy. Very much like the skin of a plum. GORGEOUS to subtly amp up any eye look.
The pigment on both of these hues is striking even in one coat. The brush is spiky and allows the color to adhere easily. Of course, Blue Charge looks rather loud on the lashes, but New Hue is that perfect shade so that you can wear color, but still feel comfortable. Because color is fun 😉
For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release as well as the Q & A with Beth Ditto.
MAC Zoom Lash Mascara retails for $15.00 and can be purchased at your local MAC counter or store, as well as at maccosmetics.com. Both Blue Charge & New Hue are listed as limited edition.

New Hue looks like a great color!
