It seems like MAC has somewhat fallen off the radar lately and I can’t for the life of me understand why.
To me, MAC will always be the brand that kicked off my absolute obsession with makeup (that hard core level of love)… in particular the perfect nude lip color.
Some of my MAC Lipstick Collection… I regret nothing.
Back then it was all about Paris Hilton and what color she had on her lips. I say back then like it was forever ago but it was only around 2003 and Paris was definitely at the peak of her celebrity when she starred on The Simple Life with Nicole Richie.
Though Nicole was my favorite personality-wise I loved Paris’ makeup. Those were the height of my LiveJournal type days so I hit up some forums and found that Paris couldn’t live without her MAC Prrr Lipglass. I immediately went to a counter and bought it along with MAC Subculture Lip Pencil.
To this very day, Subculture is still one of my all-time favorite lip pencils.
Some time later, around 2009 I would guess… since that’s when I started this blog, it was the “Kim Kardashian lip” that was the perfect nude that everyone was looking for. Now in my Makeup Alley days, I learned that in addition to also loving MAC Prrr Lipglass like her buddy Paris, Kim’s most perfect nude lip was a mix of MAC Stripdown Lip Pencil, MAC Angel Lipstick and NARS Turkish Delight Lip Gloss.
Immediately I needed all three products.

Now it’s 2019 and “influencing” has certainly changed. Anyone can want to be an influencer but not just anyone can “make it”. While a lot of influencers are outwardly beautiful it takes more than that to become known.
In this day you not only need to be marketable, but you have to have the mind to market yourself.
One person that comes to mind as being at the top for both of those things is Christen Dominique.
Christen Dominique has been an influencer since 2009 when she started her YouTube channel. 4 million subscribers later and Christen not only has her own successful brand (which is now at Sephora!) but she is still maintaining successful relationships with other brands. Oh, and did I mention that she STILL keeps up with posting content on all of her channels?
MAC Christen Dominique Lipstick Review + Swatches (Nordstrom Exclusive)
Christen’s most recent collab is with MAC Cosmetics and is exclusive to Nordstrom. I’ll be honest, I was oblivious to it until I saw it on the Nordstrom website. I can’t resist a MLBB lip… ever… but lately I’ve been trying to be smart about my purchases. I ended up purchasing the Lipstick but passing on the the Lipglass because I really don’t wear glosses all that often.

MAC x Christen Dominique Lipstick is an Amplified Cream formula & feels incredibly comfortable. It’s opaque in one coat as a beautiful pinky-beige/medium mauve. I’m clearly terrible at writing my own color descriptions but I can’t find ANYTHING on this launch. Not even a press release!
