This is my THIRD TRUNK from Trunk Club and it was such a hit. For this trunk I requested that my stylist focus on finding some things for me to wear on my first family vacation! I know what you’re thinking, first family vacation and your kids are how old?! Every other vacation before this has been with other family members…. this one is just the four of us!
Since this is my third trunk club post I won’t repeat the details of what Trunk Club is. For that info, you can check out this post. What I will quickly tell you is that Trunk Club is an at-home fashion styling service from Nordstrom. They send you a “trunk” of items to try on whereafter you keep what you like and then send back the rest. Shipping is FREE and UPS will even pick up the package right at your house. They even provide you with the TAPE for the box. They think of everything!
my third trunk
The Items I Kept
Vince Camuto Katri Woven Bootie ($149.94). I don’t need them, I know I won’t wear them a ton but I don’t have ANYTHING like this and they’re so pretty and comfortable. I know I’d regret passing them up!
Sanctuary Dahlia Cold Shoulder Tee ($49.00). I’m marking that I kept this, but I did sent it back. For the color ONLY. I love that shade of khaki but not for Summer. I did purchase the color Evening Sun on my own from Nordstrom.
Lysse Control Top High Waist Black Capris ($58.00). Um, they’re control top. They’re comfy and they suck in my gut better than any other yoga capris I’ve tried. Sold.
NYDJ Stretch Cotton Crop Pants ($98.00). I really think NYDJ might be my favorite new jeans/pants brand. I’ve been loving trying on their stuff and seem to always keep them! These are a tan khaki color and super comfy – full disclosure, I liked the color but sent them back and purchased the white instead. I needed a good white capri and will wear that more than the tan. The fit is awesome.
The Items I Sent Back
KUT from the Kloth Optic White Gidget Denim Shorts ($69.00). These fit okay but they were WAY too short.
Birkenstock Brown Gizeh Birko Flor Thong ($94.95). I loved the color but I run a size smaller in Birkenstock so they were way too big. I’m also not a fan of that thong style on my foot.
Good American Cutoff Denim Shorts ($135.00). These fit okay but they had this bizarre sidecut that made me look like I was dirty. IDK… I can’t pull that look off. PLUS typing this up I just saw the price and I wouldn’t have kept them for that anyway. WAY too expensive for shorts!
Rails White Hunter Plaid Shirt ($148.00). This shirt was really comfy and felt so soft, but I really didn’t need it or like the salmon color of the plaid (which is a lot lighter on the website than in person). Also WAY too expensive.
NYDJ White Ripped Stretch Ankle Jeans ($144.00). I loved the ripped feature of these and it was so nice that the white wasn’t see through! The ones sent were a size too big and I intended on getting them a size smaller until I saw the price. I liked the Stretch Cotton Crop Pants better so I ended up opting for those in white instead of these ones in a smaller size.
Though I liked A LOT from this trunk I sent back some of those items because of fit or color. Only three items were a total fail for me which tells me that my stylist really does listen to what I have to say. The trunks just keep getting better and better!
I think for my next trunk I’ll have to focus on Fall items, since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale preview is coming up in just a few days (which means FALL is arriving and I LOVE FALL!).
