The MAC x Beauty Gurus collab is big. It’s HUGE. The biggest influencers from around the entire WORLD got with MAC and made crazy beautiful lipsticks. When I saw the press release I wanted them ALL. As I read through the release I was met with good news and bad news. The good news - it would be super easy to get the lipsticks created by Laura Lee and Gabriel Zamora (because they’re both being released in the US). Bad news - the rest are impossible to grab unless you trust eBay for buying makeup (I personally don’t) or you know people around the world willing to help you out (I found me my own personal Canadian).

MAC partnered with 10 influencers worldwide to each create a lipstick shade. The lipsticks are only going to be released in the region that their guru resides.

This saddened me because I’m a HUGE Samantha Ravndahl fan. Before we even saw the shades I knew I’d buy hers even if it was some insane color I’d never wear (let’s be honest, though… anyone that watches her videos damn well knew her shade would be in the nude family). I’m lucky enough to be friends with Christa from Realizing Beauty who was nice enough to grab me Samantha’s shade and send it down (watch my Instagram for pics and swatches of that one once it arrives). Now I just need friends in allllllll the other countries!

MAC Lipsticks are top 3 formula wise for me. They just feel comfortable, wear well and my fave shades apply nicely. If I could live, breathe and die for only ONE lipstick shade for the rest of my life it’d be MAC Patisserie. That being said, OF COURSE I love the MACxLarLarLee and MACxGabrielZamora shades. If you can get your hands on them, buy them.

While all of the shades seem similar it’s important to note that they are different finishes, which would drastically alter the way the color will appear on your lips. PLUS with each shade being available only in certain countries does it really matter if it’s 10 nudes? Because you can only get your hands on one or two. And I still want them all. Because that’s my life.

I definitely see myself using these shades if I decide to grab them. Especially LarLarLee’s shade… that is something I’d use most definitely.

I’d have bought every single lipstick if I could have! Not even because of the influencers but because these are alllll my type of shades and I love the MAC formulas. I hope they’ll do another collab some day where all the products are available worldwide.
They are both beautiful shades. I am particularly taken by Larlarlee. I’m glad it’s going to be released in the US. Can you believe I’ve never owned a MAC lipstick? I will wait to see if Ulta will carry it once they start selling MAC next week!
