Last month I heard my daughter, Lydia, talking to someone in her room. When I peeked in I saw her iPod set up and she was filming herself showing her toys to the camera and explaining what each one was, where you could buy it and why she loved it. If she isn’t a little mini-me… Later on she also started to do this with her clothing, accessories, etc. Obviously these video sessions were never published but seeing as how she’s interested in the “blogiverse” as well as kids fashion I thought it would be an optimal time to let her style herself and share a bit of her personality with my readers!
Lydia has a fashion sense that is eclectic and ever-evolving. I rarely step in to make her change her cool kids clothes. Even though sometimes it doesn’t always match perfectly, the ensemble always works. Part of it is her creativity but a lot of it is her confidence while she’s strutting around.
In one of her latest outfit-of-the-days (OOTD) she wore a a t-shirt from Rock Your Baby that says “Excuse me while I kiss the sky”. I thought the shirt was perfect for her because she’s always elated about everything. She’s definitely got diva in her, but even after a small pout session she’s moved on and is chattering on about something random but completely wonderful.
Her style is princess-gone-tomboy… give her the glitter, the pink, the sequins, the makeup and the crown… but make sure there’s a playground nearby for swinging, hanging from the monkey bars or basically just playing in all the dirt. Always active and always center stage, stealing the show.
One thing she doesn’t like is hair in her face, so we keep a lot of hair accessories on hand like the Mouse Headband she’s wearing from Rock Your Baby. One side is a slate grey while the other has a small vintage floral pattern.
My girl is always happy. Even when she’s pouting there is happiness brewing in her eyes because she’s thinking of the next best thing. I just love her to bits! <3
