It doesn’t matter how old you get, you’ll always have that one sweet treat that you’re always craving and can’t get enough of. For me, throughout my entire life, it was always S’mores. S’mores every.single.thing. The best part about getting older? Getting your favorite treat whenever you want it. What’s better? Being able to customize said treat with more of your favorite things! In this case, I customized my S’mores Hoard with M&M’S® Crispy to satisfy my sweet tooth and give that extra crunch factor!

What you need for this recipe:

  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • a spoon (obv. we need to stir the things!)
  • wax paper
  • 1 package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • graham crackers (any kind, we like to get a graham cereal or shaped cracker to keep the mess down.. these treats are messy enough!)
  • 1 package of mini marshmallows
  • powdered sugar
  • M&M’S® Crispy
  • cupcake cups

Step 1: Line the baking sheet with the wax paper and spread the entire bag of marshmallows all over in one layer. Set the oven to low broil and pop them in for about 8 minutes (this could be longer or shorter depending on how well you like them toasted - be sure to keep your eye on it the first time).

Step 2: While the marshmallows are toasting put your other ingredients - in this case the grahams, chocolate chips and M&M’S® Crispy - into a large mixing bowl and stir.

I also recommend putting in half a cup of powdered sugar. This will help with the stickiness of the marshmallows you’ll be adding later. Mix again.

Step 3: Remove the marshmallows from the broiler. Grasp the wax paper on both sides and place the entire pad of toasted marshmallows into the freezer so that they cool quickly. Usually this takes 10-15 minutes.

Step 4: When the marshmallows are ready put a bit of powdered sugar on your hands (again, helps with the stick, I swear!) and start breaking them up and plopping them into your mix of chocolate chips, grahams and M&M’S® Crispy. This is extremely messy but totally worth it. About half way through the tray I wash my hands and add another half cup of powdered sugar to the mix, stirring again. Add the rest of the toasted marshmallow and stir again.

Step 5: Add them into cupcake cups so that you can easily grab a small snack or pass around to friends.

I chose the M&M’S® Crispy because the sweet rice puff center adds an extra crispy and crunchy feature. In addition to that the world-famous candy shell provides satisfying flavor to the recipe. They’re also available in 180 calories per singles pack, which is nice if you’re keeping track of your intake.

My little ones would go nuts. I’d have to cover them with a sheet first though. Actually I’d love them as much as they would.
