Spring Break. Some good times are had on Spring Break. In college I went to Cancun with my sorority sisters and while we had some interesting adventures (like being on MTV!) we definitely over-packed our beauty items. In an effort to help you pack a bit lighter I’ve put together a list of ten essentials that every Spring Break-er needs to have in their bags.

Spring Break Beauty Essentials

Eyeshadows. A palette that will easily take you from day to night is best and will definitely save space because it’s the only one you’ll need to bring. One of my faves is the NYX Makeup Suede Color Palette ($11.99 // ULTA Beauty). It’s got the easy, warm shimmery hues for day but also has a variety of deeper jewel-toned shades so you can mix it up at night.

Bronzer. Even if you slather yourself in SPF a bit of color is likely going to happen. Enhance it with a beautiful bronzer that adds glow like the IT Cosmetics CC+ Radiance Ombre Bronzer ($34.00 // ULTA Beauty). Since it’s got several shades happening you can make it as deep or light as you need.

Blush. You’ll need the pigment, you’ll need the staying power. ColourPop Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 // ColourPop) is where it’s at. I have 5 of the shades (shown here) and out of those Holiday would be my pick to take in my bag.

Mascara. I don’t know about you, but I loathe waterproof mascara. It doesn’t do for me what regular mascara does. For Spring Break, I’d totally splurge on getting eyelash extensions for beach/pool time. For the extra evening oomph add a coat of either Milani Total Lash Cover ($5.49 // CVS) or Benefit Roller Lash ($24.00 // Sephora).

Brows. I’m seriously lacking in the brow department, so I could never not take brow products on Spring Break. My favorite is the IT Cosmetics Your Brows But Better Brow Power Skinny Pencil aka YBBB ($24.00 // Ulta) . For something even more ridiculously budge proof try the IT Cosmetics Build-a-Brow ($24.00 // Ulta). My top brow products are listed here.

Lip Balm. You really don’t need to go heavy on the lips while on Spring Break. For the most part your at the beach and in the evening it’s not like you’re going anywhere fancy. Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm ($8.00 // Target) gives the right amount of color, awesome moisture and is easy to reapply.

PIXI Shea Butter Lip Balm Swatches

Ridiculously Bright Nail Polish. And by bright I mean NEON. Luckily with Summer just around the corner there are options. One of my favorite bright collections I have here now is the Electric Nights Collection from China Glaze ($7.50 // ULTA Beauty) - stay tuned for full collection swatches.

Beach Spray. Matted and weird, straight out of the pool should never be a thing. No one has the pretty hair we see when movie stars get out of the pool. Get at your hair with a beachy wave spray. My faves are Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray ($27.00 // Sephora) and Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray ($8.99 // ULTA Beauty).

Makeup Wipes. Vacation is time for lazy.. and also when you get back from all of your shenanigans you’ll still want to remove that makeup. Keep makeup wipes on hand.. because - lazy girls best friend. One of my current favorites are the Aveeno Positively Radiant Makeup Removing Wipes ($6.99 // ULTA Beauty) because they’re gentle but remove everything. They even work at removing my eye makeup without leaving behind that gross film on my contacts. Oh, and soy extract for moisture. Winning. All the things.

It should go without saying that you DO need some items with SPF, particularly for day. My faves for this are Aveeno Protect + Hydrate Lotion Sunscreen ($10.99 // ULTA Beauty) which comes in SPF 30-70 and is sweat-proof and water-resistant for up to 80 minutes; and Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm ($7.50 // Sephora). I have these in every room in the house, every pocket, every car… love.

Clearly we share the same brain with the Surf Spray. That bronzer looks gorgeous and I need to get acquainted with the Pixi lip balms.

I wish we had a whole ‘spring break’ thing here in England. But unless spring break includes soggy egg sandwiches in the rain by the seaside and powdery out of season apples then I don’t think we could pull it off!

I have been curious about that It Cosmetics bronzer. The illuminating part is indeed VERY shimmery.

haha I need to dig up the pics for it. We met 98degrees and took pics with them. Our college generations version of One Direction. MTV offered to pay for one of my sisters and a friend to stay an extra week to be on “Springer Break” for Jerry Springer but once she found out what she had to do (a lot of nudity) she backed out. We were on The Grind and Fashionably Loud. It was really fun =D

I forgot to pack mascara. I can’t believe it. I always have Aveeno wipes on hand. I love the looks of the NYX palette and the IT Bronzer.
