Because of my 3 month beauty no-buy I’ve been taking a good, hard and long look at everything I have. My style is incredibly relaxed and I wear a lot of the same things day-to-day (I promise I wash them in between the wearings). However, the fact that I only wear a few specific items doesn’t mean I don’t have an overabundance of “stuff”. Stuff that I need to get rid of and that I’m currently in the process of donating.
Because of my style purge I thought it’d be fun to share with you the fashion items that I get a lot of use out of and share a bit about why I like them. Perfect timing because the Shopbop Spring Sale Event is happening you can grab these items up to 25% off (details at the bottom of the post!).
What kind of fashion post would this be if I didn’t start off with the clothes? It’s simple, really. Leggings are life. I said what I said. For me, it’s important that leggings last a long time, don’t fade, are comfortable and sturdy. Madewell High Rise Ankle Leggings check all of those boxes without breaking the bank plus they hold in the gut a bit. Perfect to dress up with the Zoe Sweater from cupcakes and cashmere (also worn by me here) or down with any shade of Madewell Whisper Cotton V Neck Pocket Tee.
Lately I’m into hoop earrings. Sure, I love the basic, medium sized hoops but as of this year I’ve been into basic with a statement. During this Shopbop sale I just picked up the Madewell Molded Acetate Heart Hoop Pack. I’m trying to still be super minimal in jewelry purchases, as I don’t wear a ton of jewelry, but I just couldn’t pass them up. When my ears are a little more dressed up I tend to keep it more low-key in the necklace department. The Gorjana Chloe Charm Adjustable Necklace is a longtime fave of mine.
I know I have three bags in that graphic above. I know this. But everyone needs options and switching out bags is an easy way to change up an outfit. I’m also I perpetual pusher of recommending quality handbags. Because of this, IMO, you need three good, casual bags – the Kate Spade Toujours Medium Crossbody for your basic black, the Kate Spade Polly Small Swing Pack in that match everything taupe/light grey shade and the Madewell Transport Inset Zip Crossbody Bag for your “fun”.
Full transparency – I really have the Converse Chuck Taylors in black & leopard (here) but they keep selling out. I also have them in a pale grey shade. They’re a pain to break in but once I do I wear them non-stop and with everything!
My hair is thin, my hair is mostly sad. I’m tired of wearing plain black elastic bands. When I’m feeling a little bit fancy (yes, to me, this is totally fancy) I pop on this Madewell Small Acetate Claw Clip. It’s perfect for my hair type and that leopard pattern is never one I can turn my back on.
If you have sweaters or leggings you know all about pilling. The Laundress Sweater Comb is a must-have to quickly and easily remove those annoying little balls.
Sure, I have a big AF steamer. But that’s not ideal and it’s a real pain in the butt to drag in and out of the ONLY place in my house I have to store it. If I’m being honest with you 99% of the time I’m running my clothes through the dryer for another 20 minutes so I don’t have to iron anything. Since sometimes things need a bit more of a sprucing up and that is where the Stockholm Steamery No. 2 Travel Steamer comes into play.
I made sure that every item that I’m sharing in this post is included in the sale. Don’t worry if you’re seeing this post and the sale is over or items are listed as sold out. Things come back into stock all the time and Shopbop has sales several times a year.
