If I was on the fence about subscribing to Boxycharm Premium I fell directly onto the “yes” side when I saw a spoiler that the Natasha Denona Bloom, Blush & Glow Palette (retail $55 on it’s own) would be inside. That palette has been in and out of my Sephora cart more times than I can count. Being that Boxycharm Premium is only $35 for the ENTIRE BOX I was sold.
what is boxycharm premium
Boxycharm Premium is a brand new option. For $35 a month you’ll receive 6-7 beauty items valued at over $175. Like the original Boxycharm you’ll be able to choose one item (they will email you when the time comes to do that), have the ability to purchase “add-on items” plus be eligible for BoxyPopUp and Rewards.
With premium you’ll also still have access to 1 choice item, customization, add-ons, BoxyPopUp and rewards. See here for more info.
my upgrade experience
Before I get into the contents of the Boxycharm November 2019 Premium Box I want to speak a bit on my experience with the waitlist as well as the purchase of the Premium Box. If you’re not interested, keep on scrolling. 😉
As soon as it was available I put myself on the waitlist for Boxycharm Premium. I wasn’t on it too long before I got the email to sign up for the recurring Premium subscription. In doing so all of these terms popped up and in reading it (I have no screenshot but I have some text I sent over to a friend I can review from) it appeared that you had to be signed up for the regular to get the subscription. I’m sure this isn’t word-for-word but it basically said that if you cancel your regular Boxycharm subscription you lose your place in line to receive the Premium box.
Originally, because this is an upgrade, the information read like if you upgraded to Premium that would be your subscription moving forward instead of the regular box. The terms upon signing up read like you needed to be subscribed to both. It was also unclear if the $35 would be in addition to the $25 you were already paying for the original box.
In a nutshell, the wording surrounding the ENTIRE launch of Boxycharm Premium was unclear and a little misleading.
In talking with my friend she opted to not even sign up for Premium because the way she was reading it was the same as how I was PLUS she was concerned (because of how things were worded) that she would lose her Luxe upgrade and she wasn’t paying for two boxes every month.
I’m still not 100% clear on if I have to keep my regular Boxycharm to keep Premium. I’ll update here or in next months post (depending on how quickly they get back to me) once I find out.
what’s inside
Natasha Denona Bloom, Blush & Glow Palette ($55.00). The ultimate glow palette featuring some of the brand’s best-selling shades and formulas. Inspired by the bestselling Diamond & Blush Palette.
You get four glow products in Glow Cream Base in Peach (natural peach), Cream Blush in Fuchsia (deep cherry red with a subtle bronze shine), Glow Extreme in Light Rose (nude champagne) and Duo Glow in Vibrant, Golden Coral (vibrant coral with golden champagne).
To say I’ve been lusting for this palette would be a complete understatement. The minute I saw it was coming in Boxycharm Premium I signed up. Natasha Denona has fabulous formulas but her products can be pricey. I’m so excited to see this in the first month!
QMS Medicosmetics Intensive Eye Care ($150.00). A multi-action formula developed to rejuvenate, hydrate and care for the sensitive skin around the eyes.
It appears that this is a smaller size than what is for sale on the website but WOW it’s pricey. I’ve been looking for something more intense for evening so I’m hoping this will be the ticket.
Kopari Coconut Rose Toner ($25.00). Vegan and alcohol-free this multi-tasking toner helps to keep redness down. It’s also able to be used as a face primer, setting spray or as a quick refresh.
Alcohol-free means that I can absolutely use this. I’m oily but can get a little more dry in the winter. I’m excited to add this as a step in my evening skincare routine.
Becca Glow Lip Gloss ($22.00). The shade is Champagne Creme which is described as a soft gold w/ pink and gold pearl.
A conditioning lip color with the shine of a gloss and the nourishing benefits of a balm. This was another product that I was dying to get my hands on but couldn’t justify purchasing. Lucky me it was in this month’s Premium. 😉
Dragun Beauty Dragunfire Skin Perfecting Potion ($25.00). This product is said to be formulated for all skin tones to help conceal, correct and perfect the appearance of dark circles, discoloration and blemishes.
Long description short, this Perfection Potion seriously sounds like the end-all-be-all of complexion products. I don’t hear a lot about Dragun Beauty from the general public so while this product wasn’t on my radar I’m definitely curious to give it a try. Stay tuned!
Boxycharm 5pc. Brush Set ($65.00). This branded set is said to have been created to help you achieve a flawless look. Ideal for precise placement and seamless blending the “ultra-soft, luxury brushes” are listed as being hand-crafted, synthetic and cruelty free.
While this isn’t a set I’d have purchased on my own I’m down to try them out. I’ve never used brushes like this and am curious to see how well they perform over my current favorites.
final thoughts
Was the box worth the money? Absolutely. I will use every single product in this months box plus the Natasha Denona palette and the Becca gloss were items I’d been wanting to buy anyway. For me, Boxycharm Premium was completely worth the value and then some. This month I’m loving it even more than the regular Boxycharm (that post will be coming soon!).
You can sign up for Boxycharm here. HURRY, space is limited month-to-month. (Please note, there is a chance you won’t get the same box as me each month, as most of the products are variation items & there is also a chance you’ll get the next month’s box instead).
To my knowledge all of the products listed above are FULL SIZE (except if noted otherwise).
For reference – my box is VERSION 13.
The retail value of the entire November 2019 Boxycharm Premium? $342.00! Because this is the first month for Boxycharm Premium we don’t have any previous months to compare it to but I’d say that retail value is well worth the $35 investment.
