I’ve done pretty well at holding back from trying out Pat McGrath eye shadows. On some level it’s like I knew that once I tested the waters I’d be all in. Those thoughts were accurate.
During the recent Sephora Beauty Insider Sale, at zero hour, I ended up grabbing the Pat McGrath MTHRSHP Sublime Bronze Temptation Eyeshadow Palette. It’s officially become one of those palettes, much like the Natasha Denona Gold Eyeshadow Palette, that I just can’t stop using.
Because Sephora is launching their next Beauty Insider Event on November 29 I decided I needed to share this beautiful palette with you beforehand. Just in case you need a little push. 😉
Sephora Beauty Insider Event Info: ROUGE $25 off 11/29 – 12/12 | VIB $20 off 11/30 – 12/12 | INSIDER $15 off 11/30 – 12/11. Savings can be used with any purchase of $75 or more using code: 2018HOORAY (one-time use, in-store or online).
what is it
The Pat McGrath MTHRSHP Sublime Bronze Temptation Eyeshadow Palette is said to be “a palette of tawny neutral shimmer and velvet pigments, with two burgundy and emerald jewel tones that work in tandem to dress eyes in warm luxury.”.
You get 6 eyeshadow shades in: Celestial (luminous champagne), Burning Desire (matte terra cotta), Supernova (sparkling emerald green), Dark Paradise (noir-tinged brick red), Corruption (bronzed burgundy) and Provocatrix (golden bronze duo-chrome).
review
The Pat McGrath MTHRSHP Sublime Bronze Temptation Eyeshadow Palette is likely one of my favorite products of all time.
The two matte shades, Burning Desire and Dark Paradise, are completely sublime. As they should be in a palette which is labeled as Sublime. Smooth, buttery (but don’t eat them), easy to blend, all-day wear over primer. There aren’t enough amazing adjectives in the entire world to describe these mattes.
The four shimmer (metallic?) shades, Celestial, Supernova, Corruption and Provocatrix, are the types of shades that I want to actually marry and have kids with. Because they’re that beautiful that they’ll just also make beautiful kids. They’re not going to really speak to you when you use them dry, but when you apply those colors wet and over a sticky base you’re going to lose your mind (eye look below).
The lighter metallic colors, Celestial and Provocatrix, I do like to use dry at the inner corners and sometimes dusted dry over a look using them wet for even more dimension. WTF is a Provocatrix, anyway? I don’t know, man, but I wanna be in it. (I looked it up, it basically means temptress. I see you, Pat).
I knew this would happen. I KNEW I’d love this darn palette to the moon and back. So much so that next on my list is Sublime Bronze Ambition… which is likely not going to be the last one I buy.
Anyways. Do you need Pat McGrath Sublime Bronze Temptation? Yes. Yes you do.
Probably buy it quickly, because limited edition is stressful and while Pat McGrath sometimes brings products back she doesn’t always. It’s not worth missing out on, especially when you can get it on sale.

It is like falling down the rabbit hole… Once you try one.. Bam you become obsessed and start buying everything or looking at reviews/pictures constantly to make up your mind on which to get next … I’m already planning my next one and I’ve just bought the whole new collection (and I mean all products…) at launch with the bundle and discount. Have I overspent? Yes! Do I regret it? Not one bit.
