Did I Just Do a Cut-Crease on My Hooded Eyes? Probably not, but then again maybe it is considered a cut-crease?
Makeup Wars is back after a short break over the Summer and we wanted to share our favorite Fall looks for you. I had another post in mind but after watching this video I decided I needed to suck it up and try out a cut-crease.
Better late than never.

Back in June I reviewed the Urban Decay Born to Run Collection. I wasn’t totally in love with the palette. I didn’t hate it but I guess I expected to love the performance on ALL of the shades vs. only loving half of them.
Since then I’ve been a little stressed and feeling bad because it seemed like I was the only person other than Samantha Ravndahl that wasn’t over the moon in love with this entire palette. I’ve been wanting to try it again and this was the perfect opportunity. I’m in love with the end result!

The trick was basically to just blend all of the shades together lightly and a lot with your brushes to diffuse every shade into the other to give a nice gradient vs. a harsh line.
I hated the look until I was done with it so don’t get frustrated! This was my FIRST ATTEMPT EVER. It’s only up from here, right?

As for UD Born to Run there are still some shades that I’m not on board with. But I am more amped about making the shades I do love work to where I can wear them more often.

Wow! I am in LOVE with this look! I try SO hard to recreate beautiful looks like this but I always just put that extra little “swipe” here or I smudge it just “one more time” and that is all it takes to totally mess the look up! I actually just found your site tonight and I already love it! Question? Do you prefer to do all your make-up first and then your eyes, or the other way around? ????
Thank you!
OMG I do that constantly!!!! With the concealer trick it’s a little easier to hide and go a wee bit higher with the crease if necessary lol I have very few lost causes lately!!!
I usually do my eyes first because I can clean up the outer areas and make it look more straight. A lot of people use tape or some way to make the line super sharp but I’m 37 so things are starting to wrinkle and sag. Tape doesn’t work for me EVER *cries*. If I’m going an easy eye look I’ll sometimes do my face first but it’s rare.
This is such a stunning look! I love it!
Thank you!!! I had a lot of fun with it, even though it’s not as outer limits as most people can do with a “cut crease” lol
I’m in love with the way your eyes look. I didn’t consider this palette but seeing this look makes me think anew about it. Great fall look.

Your eye looks are always inspirational. I also struggle with doing certain looks on my hooded eyes. I gave up on winged liner, years ago.
Thank you! Liner is another thing I struggle with. It’s never easy but I love the end result. I wish I could be one of those people that could so effortlessly do a wing!
