With the recent disaster that was the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Vault Collection I thought it’d be the perfect time to share a few of my Fall Eye Makeup Favorites from a brand that rarely disappoints, Maybelline.
In this post I’ll have three of my favorite City Mini Eyeshadow Palettes as well as the Lasting Drama Matte Eyeliners and a look at the NEW and improved Master Precise All Day Liquid Liner.
The Maybelline City Mini Palettes each contain 6 eyeshadow shades and are some of my drugstore faves for when I want some color and shimmer.
These eyeshadow palettes are affordable (particularly at times like now when ULTA Beauty is running a buy one get one 50% off sale!) and each features coordinating shades so that usually all I have to do is add in a cream colored matte brow bone highlight and a matte transition shade.
*note with the more glittery shades you will experience fall-out so please do your eye makeup first!
Urban Jungle tops my list of favorites because I gravitate towards khaki colors for Fall. My eye color is brown with a hint of hazel trying to peek out (or so I’d like to think) and these shades make that more apparent.
Rooftop Bronzes comes in second because, again, these are shades that bring out my eye color but are also more easily wearable for everyday. You can go as neutral or as glam as you want to!
Chill Brunch Neutrals is an easy third because these are the shades of the season. The plum, purple-toned taupes are what we’re seeing so much of lately and it just seems to be ramping up. It’s a more affordable option compared to ABH Norvina or Natasha Denona Lila.
There are 13 versions of the Maybelline City Mini Palettes currently available (including The City Mini Palette x Shayla).
These 3 palettes are swatched below dry and on bare skin (no primers):
As much as the shimmer is a good time I don’t like to overkill it with the liner. When I’m wearing a more flashy look you can bet my liner will be matte.
An affordable option for a long-lasting, waterline welcoming matte eyeliner formula is the Maybelline Lasting Drama Matte Eyeliner.
I’ve put this formula through the ringer and it’s one of the best that the drugstore has to offer. It’s easy to twist up and smooth to apply. The best part? It doesn’t run down my face and try to say hi to my cheeks.
Three shades of Maybelline Lasting Drama Matte Eyeliner are available in Jade Olive, Rusty Terracotta and Jet Black.
This past month or so I’ve been doing a lot of liquid liner on my upper lash line. I have no idea why this is, just a phase.
Regardless I’ve been doing it so much I’m running through liquid eyeliner a lot faster so more affordable options for Fall are what I’m looking for. Luckily I’ve found that in the Maybelline Master Precise All Day Liquid Liner.
This liner is the “new and improved” formula to the brands #1 best seller. The formula is long lasting and the tip makes it easy to get a precise thin line or a thicker, more defined look. I’ve rubbed and cried in this and it doesn’t budge. A LOVE.
Three shades of Maybelline Master Precise All Day Liquid Liner are available in Black, Forest Brown and Cobalt Blue (not shown).
