Too Faced Melted Matte-Tallic Lipstick Swatches + Review

I’ve always found the formula of the Too Faced Melted Matte Lipstick to be comfortable, so I’m totally down with seeing if the new Too Faced Melted Matte-Tallic Lipstick feels (and looks) just as great.

what is it

The Too Faced Melted Matte-Tallic Lipstick is described as a “liquified lipstick with a brushed-metal finish”. The feel of this formula is said to provide “lightweight, comfortable, luxuriously plush wear and a dimensional, matte effect that’s never flat”.

14 shades are available in: Pillow Talk (metallic light champagne), Faking It (metallic chestnut rose), You Better Work (metallic mauve), Give It To Me (metallic copper bronze), Caffeine Queen (metallic deep golden brown), Sugar Kisses (metallic soft petal pink), Our Lips Are Sealed (metallic peachy coral), Breakup Makeup (metallic dusty rose), Bitch I’m Too Faced (metallic crimson red), Magic Metal Transformer (prismatic shifting lilac), I Dare You (metallic violet magenta), I Wanna Rock With You (metallic burgundy), Scream My Name (metallic deep plum) and  The Real Teal (metallic teal blue).

Of course the Too Faced Melted Matte-Tallic Lipstick formula isn’t going to be moisturizing, but I personally don’t find it to be drying in a soul-sucking type of way.

If you plan to eat or drink know that this formula does last but the color will dull down a bit and become more drying. I help this by dabbing on a clear lip balm (but obviously then it doesn’t look matte anymore).

Dry down time was quick and I found most of the shades to apply fully pigmented and even. For me The Real Teal was the only one that needed a bit of help in some areas but a light second coat did the job.

For an added effect the Too Faced Magic Metal Transformer adds a little more of a multi-dimentional “extra-ness” to your lip look. I do find that it works best and looks best with metallic lip colors vs. just a regular matte lip product. My best tip for this would be to dab it over-top the color using your finger vs. just swiping it all over.
