For the third month in a row Boxycharm has completely made my month. The products in the July 2018 Boxycharm subscription box are a mix of old faves, new staples and hidden makeup gems!

what is boxycharm

Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription box filled with 5-6 luxury items, 4 of which will always be full-sized. The monthly cost of Boxycharm is $21 but if you subscribe for 3, 6, 9 or 12 months you’ll receive a slight discount on the monthly boxes (up to $19.25). Renewals are automatic but you can cancel at any time.

Each Boxycharm box has a minimum value of $100 and you’ll receive anything from makeup to skincare to beauty tools. With some products shades can vary though with other products all boxes will have them included.

what’s inside

Dr. Brandt No More Baggage ($42.00). I know you’ve heard of this major favorite in the skincare world. This eye de-puffing gel is formulated with biomimetic technology, peptides and botanical extracts to give you visibly reduced undereye bags and dark circles.

I’ve been using this product for awhile now and it’s one of my favorite, high-end products to reduce bags and circles. Definitely recommend!

Crown Brush Fuego Eyeshadow Collection ($29.99). A rich, warm-toned eyeshadow palette with creamy, highly-pigmented shades. 5 shimmer and 5 matte colors make it easy to create flawlessly glam eye looks.

Um… this is amazing. The shadow pigment is fantastic, applies evenly and blending takes little-to-no effort at all. It actually reminds me of the formula from the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette.

I dislike that there are no names to the shadow shades listed on the palette or even the box but mostly just because it makes it difficult for me to easily tell you what shades I used in the look (see below).

Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume & Curl Mascara ($24.00). You may have already heard about this award-winning mascara. It’s said to volumize, lengthen, strengthen and condition lashes with gentle ingredients.

This mascara does a great job of providing lift, IME particularly with ingredients used to condition. I didn’t think it gave a lot of volume but then again I am someone who likes my lashes to look crazy thick.

I’d definitely use this mascara as a neutral makeup day daily wear but would want something more amped up for evening.

Note Cosmetics Luminous Silk Compact Blusher ($11.99). This luminous, paraben-free blush is stated to work for all skin types and prevent dryness with it’s argan oil infused formula. There is also a brush hiding underneath the color pan!

This color (Desert Rose) is stunning and blends like a dream. It’s a matte melon color and is extremely pigmented, so apply with care!

Chella Beauty Eyebrow Cream ($26.00). An innovative eyebrow cream used to effortlessly define and shape brows with a velvet-like formula. It’s said to easily blend and then set for perfect brows all day/night.

Right off this formula is wonderful. It applies evenly, is nicely pigmented, blends well and the color (Tantalizing Taupe) is perfection… plus it lasts. But, there’s a deal breaker.

The packaging SUCKS. It was so hard to get my brush into (which, BTW, was smaller than the brush they included on the one side) and I had to continuously keep trying to get in there and get more product… sometimes I’d get too much, sometimes I wouldn’t get enough.

It’s frustrating enough to have to fill in my brows as much as I do but this just elongates the process. I LOVE the product and I hope Chella will consider a packaging update because I’d buy it in a heartbeat. For now I’ll use this to fill in the areas of my brows where no hair likes to grow and pencil in around it.

final thoughts

Was the box worth the money? YES.

I’ve been eyeing Crown Brush Fuego since I saw them post about it on their Instagram, Dr. Brant No More Baggage is already one of my holy grails PLUS I’ve found new favorites in the Note Blush and Chella Eyebrow Cream (even though I want new packaging it’ll still serve it’s purpose).

The retail value of the entire July 2018 Boxycharm? $133.98! This was about the same value as last month’s box and IMO very much worth the $21 investment since the Dr. Brant product alone is double the price of what this subscription box is.
