I never take the Pantone Color of the Year literally. Well, except maybe Marsala but omg how could you not just want to wear that one head to toe?! The 2018 Pantone Color of the Year is Ultra-Violet. It’s intimidating AF but also beautiful in a way that knocks your socks off. In this post I’m going to feature a few products from the Spring 2018 Clarins Makeup Collection to get you into the spirit of the color of the year but in a more comfortably wearable, on-trend type of way.
what is it
In this post from the Clarins Spring 2018 Makeup Collection I’ll be featuring an SOS Primer to prep your complexion, an eyeshadow palette to highlight your eyes in the most flattering way and a lip balm with the perfect shade of tint to complement both the other two products.
Clarins 05 Lavender SOS Primer ($39.00) is perfect to visibly lighten sallow skin. The formula is lightweight, oil-free and includes skincare benefits. Six shades in total are available – read more about them here.
Clarins 07 Lovely Rose 4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette ($44.00) can be worn wet or dry and is completely stunning either way. These mineral eyeshadows are smoothing and long-lasting to make for a softer take on the whole ultra-violet trend. Use the shades as shadows to define, line or contour for crease-free results (for me I do need to use a primer). If you want to intensify any of the shadows apply them wet. Read more here.
Clarins 08 Plum Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector ($26.00) is surprisingly my favorite piece of this trio. There is a slight candy scent to it that is divine and it gives just the right amount of color to the lips. Very comfortable to wear, moisturizing and can be layered to intensify the color. You can wear it alone or over another lip color. Read more here.
All of the Clarins items mentioned above are swatched below dry and on bare skin (no primers):
