With my kids Spring Break approaching way too rapidly I got to thinking about the makeup that I’d take with me if I were going on Spring Break. The stories I could tell you guys about my Spring Break trips would blow your mind and TBH back then I don’t think I took much makeup… but now I’d need A LOT. In the interest of not overpacking too much I decided that palettes are the way to go because palettes provide the most options possible given the fact that even if you SPF to the Gods your skin tone is going to deepen a bit.
Every year NARS has been releasing the NARS NARSISSIST Cheek Palettes ($59.00 each) and because they each house 6 shades of cheek product they’re excellent options for your Spring Break makeup bag. This year two are released in WANTED I and WANTED II.
what is it
The NARS NARSISSIST Wanted Cheek Palettes are together are selection of 10 new shades and 2 existing cheek shades housed in hefty silver and pink/peach pixelated palettes. Inside each palette will have 6 shades as well as a full-sized mirror.
review
NARS NARSISSIST Wanted I Cheek Palette. This palette contains 6 cheek shades in UNLIMITED (shimmering pale pink), BUZZED (matte coral), NOTORIOUS (matte lavender), KINGPIN (matte rose), BUMPY RIDE (shimmering candy pink), CRAVE (matte bright coral). This one is good for fair-to-light skin tones. I think some darker skin tones could pull the deeper colors off but it wouldn’t be worth purchasing just for one or two shades, I haven’t tested this one a darker skin tone but based off of the online swatches the lighter colors do look ashy on the models arm.
NARS NARSISSIST Wanted II Cheek Palette. This palette contains 6 cheek shades in PYT (metallic rose), AMBITION (satin tangerine), TAOS (soft red with golden sheen), EXPOSED (matte dusty rose), PENTHOUSE (matte raspberry), QUEEN (matte ruby). This one is good for medium-to-deep skin tones. Light skin-tones should also be able to pull it off if you’re light handed when you apply, I personally LOVE wearing Exposed.
In my testing I felt that the NARS NARSISSIST Wanted Cheek Palettes were both lovely in terms of formula and also wear. Some blushes do feel chalky/dry when simply swatched but I personally found each shade was easy to apply and blended well, wearing all day (8-10 hours or so) over full makeup.
Each of these palettes gives you the option to keep it demure or go bold (based on your skin tone). With 5 blushes and a highlight it’s a travel-friendly dream if you’re looking to bring blush options on vacation (or if you’re like me and change your mind constantly). The palettes each only have one shade that isn’t limited edition so you’d be getting 5 brand new shades to add to your collection.

Both palettes are swatched below dry and on bare skin (no primers):
