You don’t have to use products that say “unicorn” to actually appear “unicorn”. Recently Urban Decay has launched their Disco Queen Highlighter Collection. A dynamic duo of purple holographic highlighters that aren’t for the faint of heart, but those people will want them anyway.
what is it
The Urban Decay Disco Queen Collection features a Highlighter Powder and a Disco Highlighter Stick, both described as holographic but with an obvious difference in finishes.
When an average highlight just won’t do, take it up a notch with our new Disco Queen collection. These holographic highlighters create an iridescent, multi-dimensional sheen that looks amazing on any skin tone. Use a little for a subtly ethereal shimmer, or keep layering for an intensely holographic highlight.
review
Urban Decay Holographic Highlighter Powder ($29.00) is described as an iridescent lavender with a blue holographic shift. I wouldn’t personally call this holographic, I’d say it’s got more of a shift to it so maybe duochrome? One layer of this gives you a nice, noticeable glow but tbh if you’re doing purple highlight you really need to go big or go home. Feel free to keep it subtle, but this freaking layers GORGEOUSLY and it’s one of those colors that just keeps getting prettier the more you apply. The formula is lovely and light, applying evenly and blending easily.
Urban Decay Holographic Disco Highlighter Stick ($26.00) is described as holographic with a pink-blue shift. The stick has more of a holographic effect than the powder but really I also wouldn’t call it holographic. A more accurate description would be a clear base with multi-dimensional pink shimmer. Layering will amp up the glittery shimmer and while it looks beautiful wearing this alone probably won’t do ya if you’re wanting that extra sort of highlight (which, let’s be honest, if you bought either of those products that’s what you’re going for).
Speaking of layering if you really want to reach actual unicorn status you’ll want to put the powder on top of the stick. Disco Glam AF. Donna Summer is jealous and so are all of the magical, shimmering, mythical creatures of the world.

I used to use Urban Decay Holographic Highlighter Powder and can confirm with confidence that it gives a magnificent highlight!
Nice to read reviews about others in a line. Thank for sharing 🙂
