Back in 2011 (why, yes, I’ve been blogging that long) I swatched and reviewed the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette. I LOVED IT. It was one of the first drugstore products that really wowed me. Now Wet N Wild has introduced the NEW new Comfort Zone Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette ($4.99) and gone ahead and made it even more amazing.
what is it
The Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette is a 10 pan eye shadow palette that is said to be “powerfully pigmented, buttery soft and glides like a dream”. The shadows have been reformulated in this version though in my opinion they were amazing even before! Comfort Zone features shades of neutrals as well as some deeper and more colorful colors to really smoke out the look or have some fun.
review
The difference that you’ll notice right away between the new Comfort Zone and the old is that the new one has 10 eyeshadow shades vs the old one with 8 eyeshadow shades. The colors when swatched are slightly different also. I don’t have the old palette (because 2011!) but based off of my terrible past swatches I can still tell that it’s not identical but similar.
Some of the shades (interestingly enough mostly the matte transition shades) were really soft and pigmented. They blended out well on the eye. The metallics were also just as pigmented and amazing. I thought the two darkest shades felt dry to the touch but still worked out well on the eye. During testing my eye looks lasted all day long when worn over primer.
I also had to pick up and test out some more of the newness from Wet n Wild so I grabbed their Liquid Catsuit Metallic Lipstick in Satin Sheets as well as the Perfect Pout Gel Lip Liner in Bare to Comment. I am OBSESSED with the lip liner. It’s so smooth and long-wearing – definitely what I’ve been waiting for in an affordable liner. The Metallic Liquid Catsuit didn’t apply well just via the applicator but it looks stunning if you put on the liner first and then use your finger dab a bit of the Metallic overtop (like I did in the look below).
