Good quality, expensive highlighters are basically a dime a dozen. Drugstore highlighters are even more common but it’s a little more difficult to find the ones that have the quality you’re after and that are in line with the current trends. Recently the ELF Prismatic Highlighting Holographic Duo ($8.00 each) shades have stood out to me because they’re shockingly affordable and insanely pigmented.

The ELF Prismatic Highlighting Holographic Duo are round highlighter compacts with two shades in each so you can get that radiant, iridescent glow. You can wear alone or layer (as the duos are buildable) and allow the luminescent formula to make your highlight pop!
Three duos are available in Mermaid Tail (iridescent cool pink/iridescent light blue w/ purple shift), Blue Lagoon (iridescent blue-green/iridescent blue-purple) and Siren’s Call (white gold/peachy copper).

I found all three duos to apply smoothly (no glitter residue or fallout) and appear as though they were a more luxurious brand when worn. It’s always impressive to me when I can get that type of finished look with a product so easily accessible and affordable. They were easy to blend out and I didn’t experience any fading throughout my 10 hour wear test.
ELF Mermaid Tail Prismatic Highlighting Duo Review
Each duo is stunning on the face, eyes, shoulders… anywhere you want to glow a bit more and give off that “IMMA UNICORN” vibe. My personal fave (because it matches me the best) for my face is the pink side of Mermaid Tail. But I’m wearing them ALL on my eyes where you can layer them overtop of cream shadows to really get the makeup party started.
I personally don’t see anything Holographic going on, like the packaging states, but they are definitely beautiful shades and I love that an inexpensive brand is making it easy to customize your glow and still remain on trend.

They are all so gorgeous! But, as soon as I saw Siren’s Song I knew it was the one for me. At $8 each they are a true bargain.

I love these highlighters, they are colored and glowy without being glittery. I also like the pink in mermaids tail best!
