Last year (it’s so weird to say that!) I posted my thoughts on the HUDA BEAUTY Mauve Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette and the Warm Brown Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette. Today is my final post and it’s on the HUDA BEAUTY Smokey Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette, which, if you’ve read the other two posts, you know I’m going to gush over.

what is it

The Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes are mini-palettes curated by Huda to offer consumers “a complete day-to-night color wardrobe”. Each of the 9 shades in each palette is said to include highly pigmented mattes and striking shimmers with a smooth and blendable texture. The palettes are compact and lightweight yet still include a mirror making them fantastic for travel or to keep in your makeup bag.

HUDA Beauty Smokey Obsessions contains 9 shades total – “four mattes and five metallic shimmers—including an intense black, warm shades of dark brown, champagne, gold, and silver”. Each palette contains 9 x 0.05 oz/1.3 g of product.

Smokey Obsessions is the one that I think will be the most popular overall. Everyone loves a smokey eye look and this one makes it simple to achieve one for day or night. Like the other two palettes I tried the shadows are high quality, extremely pigmented and easy to blend. They last all day long over an eyeshadow primer.

As said in my previous reviews the biggest complaint I’ve seen about these palettes is the fact that they’re so small. I’m personally okay with the size. It’s a bit of a shock when you first see them but there isn’t a lot of space packaging wise in between the shadows. You’re not going to immediately run out of product if you use them a few times and I think everyone got a little too over-hyped about everything. Comparatively if you look at, say, the Smashbox Photo Matte Eyes Travel Palette which is $25.00 and you’re only getting 0.35oz total of product the Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes aren’t that bad at $27.00 for 0.45oz total. Technically it’s a better deal and you’re getting an extra color option.

final thoughts

I bought all three of those palettes myself and of the three Mauve is definitely the stand-out. All three performed well and have me impressed enough to want more HUDA Beauty Eyeshadows and products. Each is perfect for use alone or to pair together to create even more beautiful looks.
