Holiday beauty is in full swing and some of my favorite buys are from NARS. Because, have you see the packaging every year?! Is it repetitive that every single year when NARS releases their Holiday Makeup Collection I’m like “this packaging is the besttttt” ….. lol it truly is. It tops itself every single year! For 2017 NARS has collaborated with Man Ray and the gifting collection definitely makes for the sweetest holiday gifts. In this post I’m focusing on the NARS The Veil Cheek Palette.

NARS The Veil Cheek Palette ($49.00) is a trio of cheek colors which include Laguna Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer (diffused brown powder with golden shimmer), Lovesick Blush (satin watermelon) and Surreal Highlighter (glistening bronze rose).

I loved this palette. I think it’s fabulous to wear on the cheeks and even on the eyes. The bronzer is Laguna, so you’ve seen that before, but the other two shades are limited edition to the palette. Lovesick Blush is pigmented AF so a dab will do and just be light about applying it. The color lasted all day on my cheeks and is basically gorgeous and phenomenal. That “I skied all day today” look without actually being active at all. Surreal Highlighter is a little too dark for me to use as a highlight shade but it’s something that I love to use at the inner corners of my eyes.
Laguna is on par performance wise with the single of the shade but I found it a bit light as a pairing with Lovesick and Surreal. It’s the perfect bronzer for me but the other shades are so deep I’d think they’d be more for a medium skin tone, in which case I’d put Casino with them. Regardless, it’s all wearable for me if I work it the right way and I love the final results!

This cheek palette was one of my favorites from the holidays! It’s perfect for travel.
I bought this and I agree that the pairing of Laguna with the other two deep shade is a little surprising. I’ve only used it twice yet but I’m having some issues making the blush look natural enough for my liking on my light skin tone. The color is beautiful but it’s so bright and pigmented that it becomes too much very quickly. So still on the fence about this palette!

I use a really flimsy blush brush that still picks up too much (SO PIGMENTED lol) and tap off the excess. Then I dot it on my cheek and blend. If it still looks like too much I diffuse it with some setting powder. It’s definitely a strong color!
This is a beauty. With the fabulous packaging it really would make a nice gift but even better for yourself!
