Natasha Denona Lila Eyeshadow Palette Swatches, Review + EOTD

October 24, 2017

I’ve had the Natasha Denona Lila Eye Shadow Palette ($129.00) in my hands for awhile now… as evidenced by the multiple looks I’ve been sharing on Instagram. I basically love everything about it and I wasn’t sure that I would. The packaging is pretty, in all it’s purple metallic glory, and I loved the swatches… but I just don’t wear a lot of purples. When I saw preview looks that the brand posted on Instagram I was sold.

what is it

The Natasha Denona Lila Eye Shadow Palette includes 15 brand-new eyeshadow shades in a combination of warm and cool plums, violets and fuchsias. It is stated to be perfect for every skin tone. There are 4 classic Natasha Denona textures included in Chroma Crystal, Creamy Matte, Metallic and Duo-Chrome. The shades can be worn alone or layered for versatile day or night looks.

Per Se (matte medium smoky purple-grey), Viola (metallic medium fuchsia-violet), Amara (matte medium brown-berry), Cyclone (duo chrome bronze/copper with pink highlight), Nude Vino (matte medium nude-grape), Layla (metallic dark grey mauve), Amethyst (metallic medium bright violet), Magnetic (metallic medium bright fuchsia), Magnolia (chroma crytals light warm champagne), Nude (matte mauve medium), Juneau (sheer metallic light lavender), Livid (duo chrome medium lilac with silver-blue highlight), Puprure (metallic medium burgundy), Dragon Bite (duo chrome medium red with green highlight), Helio (metallic light pastel nude rose)

review

I have nothing bad to say. It’s all quality, I had no issues with blending or fading or creasing (worn with primer). No shades are dry, none are patchy. Even a shade like Dragon Bite (which really pops when used wet) is still fabulous on it’s own. The packaging is in a sturdy, thick, cardboard case and shuts easily. The mirror inside is a good size if you’re looking to travel and need it on-the-go.

If I had to be completely nit-picky I’d say I’d rather have the shade names on the palette itself under the shadows vs on a plastic overlay but really that’s not even a big deal. I’d also love to see a shade within the palette that I could use as a brow bone highlight or even a matte bone color to blend out the crease color toward the brow. Those are a dime-a-dozen and I have a lot of them, but it is nice to have it within the palette. That being said IDK if I’d want to trade out any of the gorgeous shades already included for such a simple and overdone color.

eye looks

I did several looks with this palette and posted two on Instagram. The one below is my favorite of them all (and also is the most dramatic!). Check them out here: Look 1 – Look 2.

final thoughts

Um…. YES you should buy this. It’s pricey but if you’re going to spend that kind of money it’s good to know you’re getting a lot and that the product itself is high quality. I don’t gravitate towards or really even like purple tones and I wear this palette frequently for both simple and dramatic looks. It’s a must-have – get it on your holiday wishlist ASAP.

Some of the shades in this make me want to grab it off the screen. I can’t say that the mattes get me but the others sure do.

[…] Off the top of my head I have to say the Natasha Denona Lila Palette. The retail price of the palette is $129.00 for 15 eyeshadow shades. For me, yes, it’s worth it. I love the shades and the palette in general was out of my comfort zone with a lot of purple and pink tones. I rarely use those but they’re more on trend this year so I’ve been craving them more. It’s easy to make understated looks or bold in your face looks… plus the quality is amazing. If you’re going to splurge on ONE shadow palette it should be one from Natasha Denona.
