When it comes to NARS the blushes are usually the most talked about products from the line, what with their ability to produce those flattering, universal shades. For the NARS x Man Ray Collection for Holiday 2017 the Blushes ($30 each) didn’t blow me away… until I tried them. As for the Overexposed Glow Highlighter ($42.00) well, you already know it’s going to be good.
what is it
There are two NARS Blush shades available in Intensely Blush and Fetishized Blush. NARS blushes (in general) are described as being “the industry’s best selling shades for cheeks, delivering healthy-looking color that immediately enlivens the complexion and provides a natural-looking flush that flatters any skin tone”.
Intensely Blush
Bright Tangerine
Fetishized Blush
Pink Grapefruit
There is also the NARS Overexposed Glow Highlighter which is described as having a “second-skin luminosity in a universally flattering highlighter”. This carries a new and limited edition formula.
Double Take Overexposed Glow Highlighter
Gold Highlight
review
Of the two Blushes, surprisingly, Fetishized is my favorite thing of life. Both swatch so severe and neon but actually wear very nicely on the cheeks. Fetishized is my favorite because when you blend it out it’s this gorgeous flushed look… basically like you just walked into someones fetish and now you’re totally embarrassed. I like it more than Intensely only because it’s much more flattering to my skin tone. They both blend nicely and give the appearance of a stain. They wear all day, as is my experience with almost all blushes from NARS.
Double Take Overexposed Glow Highlighter is basically angel kisses and baby coos. It’s that beautiful. Double Take blends on the face seamlessly and is that fine line between there’s definitely something there and overkill. Very high-shine, almost foiled but … NICE. What’s so wild about this highlighter is that it’s a chameleon in the sense that in some angles and lighting it looks more gold, in others it looks more champagne. The makeup paired with it even seems to have an effect. I did some comparisons for you below!
swatches
The shades are swatched below, dry and without primer:
I had several people as me about the comparison of Double Take to Becca Champagne Pop. Double Take is a more saturated champagne color than Champagne Pop so I think those that found CP too light for their skin tone would definitely want to pick up DT. In the photo below you’ll see them swatched side-by-side and they’ll look even more different but in person it’s a tad more subtle. Definitely not dupes. I also swatched Becca Prosecco Pop on the other side of Double Take because it was there and why not 😉 Obviously it’s much more golden.
