It’s the necessary evil. The stuff you NEED to buy to aid in and maintain your beauty routine – and I’m not talking skincare. These are the essentials that are boring & offer no thrill. All they do in life is squeeze the money from your potential Sephora budget. Well, they don’t have to break the bank and you can order them in bulk so that you’re not feeling this pain quite so often. My “Non-Glam Beauty Necessities” might be pretty similar to yours, but maybe you’ll see a thing or two you need to try out.
Contact Solution. Unfortunately, I wear contacts. Which, fortunately, keeps me from having to wear glasses. Until I reach the goal of getting Lasik the contact solution is a necessity.
Cotton Rounds. I blow through these way too quickly so I buy in bulk and hoard them. I use them for removing makeup, sometimes nail polish and for skincare.
Cuticle Trimmer. A lot of people say this isn’t good for your cuticles in so many ways. I get it. But I love having one and there are always at least two floating around my house. If I lose one, I panic and order more. IME these total stainless steel ones work better than the plastic handled.
Eye Drops. My eye doctor said I don’t have dry eye, but since my contacts are the kind that I sleep in and just throw out every month they can get foggy. I use rewetting drops to help with that. Essential when I’m not in the house and can’t clean my contacts out at the sink.
Deodorant. I feel like I’ve tried them all in my 8 years of beauty blogging, but recently I discovered one that stands above the rest. No wet feeling when you apply, no stinky smell when you get hot and (gag) sweat, so stains, no deodorant balls – hello, Secret Clinical Strength Invisible Solid. My fave scent is Completely Clean. Because it really has NO scent.
Kleenex. I mean. Seriously. I think it goes without saying every time we do our makeup, no matter what the season, our noses run. Eyes run. It’s better to dab with a Kleenex than to swipe with you’re hand.
Nail Polish Remover. This one from Zoya is one of my faves. Remove+ does the job quickly on even the toughest of polishes.
Q-Tips. No, not for your ears. I’m talking about those tapered, precision tipped ones. They’re prefect for cleaning up liner mistakes, polish mistakes… ALL OF YOUR MISTAKES.
Razors. Obvi you need razors. I usually wax all the things and I still need to make sure razors are around. My fave for this is the Venus Swirl.
Shave Gel. I wax as much as possible, but sometimes you need a shave. I use the Skintimate Gel for Dry Skin because it doesn’t make me itch.
Shower Puff. LOVE these because you can exfoliate & make sure you don’t get ingrown hairs without it feeling too scratchy. Again, always have two on hand so when the one you’re using looks gross you can easily grab a new one.

I’m so happy to hear that the Secret Completely Clear is unscented. I bought one a long time ago but whatever the scent was drove me nuts. I’m going shopping! And I need the Precision Tips again after all of you raved about them.

To me it has no scent. Technically it’s “scented” but I don’t smell it at all!

We have a lot of similar picks! Zoya Remove is the best.

I love my cuticle trimmer. I don’t use it on my cuticles, proper unless I get a dry snag that must be carefully trimmed away. I like mine for trimming away hangnails and that dead, dry skin that can collect alongside my nails.
