ColourPop On a Stick Blotted Lip Swatches + Review

Every once in awhile I get the opportunity through Octoly to have ColourPop products (and some other brands) sent to me to share on my Instagram page. Sometimes I love them enough to also share here on the blog, which is the case with the ColourPop On a Stick Blotted Lip ($5.00 // ColourPop).

what is it

The Blotted Lip formula is a sheer matte lipstick meant to give you the “most perfect popsicle pout”. It’s said to provide a “casual wash of color that is both buildable and light”.

As of this blog post 11 shades are currently available (some are limited edition). For this post I’ll be reviewing and talking about the shade On a Stick, which is described as a bright coral.

I am loving On a Stick, especially for Summer. It leaves a nice coral stain to the lips that really does resemble that “I just ate a popsicle” look without the mess of the actual popsicle. It’s matte, but when you press the shade into your lips it doesn’t look drying, just natural.

The way I’m wearing this coral shade is by applying the product directly to my bottom lip, pressing my lips together and then using my finger to blend the color evenly. You can layer the shade for more color, but to me – the way I apply it is my own personal lip perfection. Wear time for me is a few hours. If I’m eating a meal I do have to reapply for impact but it does leave a bit of staining behind on me.
