I don’t think that there is a brand out there with as comprehensive of a makeup sponge collection as Real Techniques. Recently the brand sent over a wide selection of their new MultiTech Collection of makeup tools and some of their sponges so I thought it would be a good idea to share all of them with you and explain what each one is used for.
makeup sponges
MultiTech Point Makeup Sponge ($8.00). This sponge features a point for detail and a round base to flawlessly blend – plus you can use it damp or dry! This sponge also comes with it’s own storage cube (which I LOVE).
2 Miracle Sponges ($14.99). The Mini Miracle Eraser Sponge corrects mistakes (fallout, mascara oopses). The Mini Miracle Sculpting Sponge is designed to create shadow and highlight on your favorite features. They also each have their own holder for drying and storage.
4 Mini Miracle Complexion Sponges ($7.99). These small versions are perfect for precision (use the tip) and blending/contouring (flat edge). They’re also perfect for travel! I personally love them for getting. around the nose and under the eyes.
4 Miracle Blotting Cushions ($8.99). These sponges have a soft, flexible foam contour to fix makeup on-the-go without ruining what you’ve already taken so much time to apply. I personally like to use these to blot at oil before I touch-up a powder. Make sure you wash them after use and don’t just leave them dirty in your makeup bag.
4 Miracle Contour Wedges ($9.99). These are to easily apply, blend and buff liquid, cream and powder product on-the-go. Use the domed sides to blend and the round sides to buff. If you tend to find normal sized blenders to be too big these smaller ones will be your ticket.
Dual-Ended Expert Sponge ($5.99). This sponge is designed to provide medium to heavy application. Use the orange side for foundation and the pink side to contour, highlight and apply blush. It works with liquids, creams and powders. IMO I like this best DRY for powders.
Miracle Cleansing Sponge ($5.99). This is a “skin prep sponge”. Reach all contours of your face to gently exfoliate dirt, oil and makeup for a smooth complexion. It’s best to use with cream or gel facial cleanser.
Miracle Face & Body Sponge ($7.99). This sponge is largeeeee and perfect for the streak-free application of highlighters, bronzers and self-tanning lotions to the larger surfaces of the skin.
Miracle Finish Sponge ($5.99). This sponge is porous for a lighter but buildable application of product. This is awesome to use with a liquid or cream blush, perfect for “draping”.
makeup brushes
MultiTech Point L ($14.00). Use for focused face application and blending (blush, detailed bronzing, bb/cc cream, highlighter, contour + more).
MultiTech Point XL ($16.00). Use for full face application and blending (powder application, bronzing, baking, foundation blending, tinted moisturizer application and more).
MultiTech Point XXXL ($16.00). Use for application on the neck and body (bronzing, décolletage, body contouring & more).
MultiTech Point Set S, XS, XXS, XXXS ($28.00). Four sizes of makeup brushes for detailed application and precision blending. Use the Point S for all-over shadow, concealer, contour lines, highlighter + more; use the Point XS for color correcting, concealer, crease shadow + more; use the Point XXS for detailed highlighting, detailed shadow, lip blending + more; use the Point XXXS for brow filling, smokey liner, smudged liner, lip detailing + more. This set also includes a gorgeous brush stand.
final thoughts
The MultiTech line brushes & sponge are said to flawlessly apply all makeup types with a universal tapered cut that is optimal for color pickup and blending. One shape, multiple sizes for any part of the face.

These look pretty and I like the black/white/pink color scheme. I’ll be honest though – I’m awful when it comes to brushes and sponges and tend to use the same few for everything.
I have to play around to find what I love. Once I find a love I buy in multiples!
