A couple times a year MAC will release a collection that has such gorgeous colors and fabulous packaging that I just want all the things. This Summer’s makeup collection collab with Steve J. & Yoni P. is one of those times for me.
Game-changing Korean design duo Steve J. and Yoni P. strike a spunky balance between flirty frills and sporty thrills. Now, the couple introduces a MAC Collection as a cheeky and progressive as their fashion! Ecstatic pinks, smoky, warm neutrals and playful graphic packaging tap into the heart and soup of Seoul street style.
This 14 piece collection includes it all – products for lips, cheeks, eyes … even brushes and a bag. I mean… an excellent Mother’s Day gift would be to get the makeup bag and put the ENTIRE collection inside… <<< key to my heart, y’all.

MAC Spotlight Me Lipstick // Steve J. & Yoni P. Makeup Collection
From this collection I have three products to share with you – one of the lipsticks and both of the blushes.
Lipstick ($17.00). Four Lipstick shades are available in Spotlight Me (light peachy nude, amplified), Yoni Crush (bold orange-red, amplified), Candy Yum-Yum (neon pink, matte) and A Killing Smile (bright pinkish red, matte).
Powder Blush ($23.00). Two Powder Blushes are available in Peony Petal (bright blue-pink, satin) and Sugar or Syrup (light yellow-pink, satin).
The satin finish on MAC blushes is my all-time favorite. Of these two Sugar or Syrup is my favorite. It’s the warmer of the two but it felt more buttery and blended out easier. Peony Petal wasn’t a fail by any means but it was a little more dry. It applied with pigment but didn’t blend as smoothly as Sugar of Syrup. Oddly, over the course of the day, the color of Peony Petal appeared to deepen on my cheeks a bit. The color is beautiful on both and wear time was all day.
Will you be picking up any of the MAC x Steve J. & Yoni P. collection? I think the products featured in this post are definitely worth checking out, particularly if you’re a collector and enjoy the packaging of these limited edition collections.
MAC x Steve J. & Yoni P. will be available in-store (at select MAC locations) and online (maccosmetics.com) June 1 through July 13, 2017.
I loved your review and I am interested in the blushes you swatched. When you tried the blush “Peony Petal” did you find it to be chalky? I ask because you stated the blush was dry and did not blend well.
Thank you.
Erica K.
Hi Erica! It definitely felt chalky and looked so when I swatched it. It wasn’t awful when worn but it just didn’t perform as well as the other blush. Sugar or Syrup was wonderful and more on par with what I expect from a satin finish blush from MAC.
