The best part about drugstore brands upping their makeup game? The tools get better, too! If you don’t necessarily need your makeup brushes to bling and glitter like unicorn makeup brushes then you have even more options offered to you that you can find right at your local drugstore. Walk in, and buy. It’s that easy!
Here are a few of my fave drugstore brands for affordable makeup brushes and tools:
ELF
ELF Cosmetics has of the most impressive drugstore brands for makeup brushes in terms of quality and price. There is now an additional line that is slightly higher in price point called Beautifully Precise. These brushes feature a silver handle and are considered to be the brands premium brushes. Obviously, I love them. Their Precision Sponge Trio is also the closest dupe for a beautyblender that I’ve found at the drugstore!
Wet n’ Wild
Super pretty with the pink and white they’re also the most affordable tools on this list – some coming in at less than $0.99 a brush! Some even as low as $0.99! They feel fab on the skin and they’re cruelty free AND vegan!
Real Techniques
The brand with brush sets and sponges (excellent for baking) for everything! I’m also a huge fan of their Brush Cleansing Palette (shown on my Instagram)
Ecotools
These brushes feel SO SOFT and amazing on the skin, almost like they couldn’t possibly be drugstore! Makeup application with them is easy and the sets are priced right.
Royal & Langnickle
Speaking of affordable makeup brush sets if you haven’t yet tried MODA by Royal & Langnickle then WHAT are you waiting for?! They even have those oval brushes made so popular this last year, but their are SUPER affordable. There was even a limited Prismatic Line released!
PIXI
PIXI Beauty has long impressed me with their makeup products so when their line of brushes released in 2014 of course I immediately fell in love (original review). They just did a collab with influencers where a Strobe & Sculpt brush was released and it’s AMAZING.
Sonia Kashuk
Sonia Kashuk always gets me with her amazing brush sets. When they launch they always appear to be so expensive but (in some sets) you get A TON of brushes, making it a good value. If buying so many at once isn’t your thing they’re also available individually and in smaller sets.

I have a set of Sonia’s that has to be like 12 years old AND still looks great.
I didn’t even realize that Wet n Wild makes brushes :S

I forgot how awesome Sonia Kashuk’s brushes are. They’re also incredibly funky. Every few months she’s giving us some stylish brushes. The best ones come out during the holidays and uggggghhh, every year I feel like I need them ALL.
Wet n’ Wild’s brushes are so cute and fluffy + affordable?!!!? I will soon replace my old ones with these brushes!!

Great recommendations! I love Ecotools, Pixi , Sonia Kashuk and few Real Techniques makeup brushes
I haven’t tried Pixi, but of the others, I really like the Elf brushes best. Will be interesting to see how well they hold up, I’m manic about having clean brushes.
Somehow I didn’t know that Pixi made brushes! You’ve got some great picks.
