It all started a few months ago when I got a small sample jar of Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream in my Sephora Play! Subscription Box. Drunk Elephant as a brand has been all over the internet in terms of blogs and vlogs but it’s hard to willingly want to switch up your skincare routine when you feel as though you’re in an okay place.
At the time my sample arrived I was looking for something to use that was more moisturizing at night, not heavy and have the ability to make my skin look and feel good when I woke up in the morning. I had enough of it to use every night for a week and fell in love enough to purchase the full size myself and also try a few other products that the brand had sent over – the Let’s B Clear Kit and Lippe.
Let’s B Clear Kit ($82.00 // Sephora). This is a “five-piece skin care kit to cleanse, treat, and hydrate for clear, conditioned skin”. Included are full-size versions of the Pekee Bar, B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel as well as travel sizes of the T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum (0.27 oz/ 8 mL), C-Firma Day Serum (0.27 oz/ 8 mL) and Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil (0.27 oz/ 8 mL). The two full-sized products alone retail for $80 so for $2 more you get to try generous travel sizes of other products that pair up well together.
These kits are a fabulous way to introduce yourself to a new brand and find out what products your skin will respond to the best before you splurge on full size products. Because Drunk Elephant is a newer line there aren’t a ton of products yet but between the Let’s B Clear Kit and the AHA Kit you’ll be all set to find your faves! (there are also smaller sized kits that retail for $23-$28 that will allow you to snag just travel sizes).
NOTE: The Drunk Elephant Let’s B Clear kit seems to currently be out of stock online. It is a limited edition product but you can sign up to be emailed for when it comes back. The full size products are permanent to the line and sold individually.
Lippe ($22.00 // Sephora). This is an “antiaging and protective, treatment lip balm that moisturizes, volumizes, nourishes, and rejuvenates to give lips a youthful look”.
Because I’m all about warding off wrinkles around my mouth I’m forever looking for the most hydrating treatment I can find to slap on my lips before bed. Lippe features a larger circle so it goes just over my lip line when I apply. The formula is moisturizing with a lot of slip, but not so much that it feels like your lips are an oily mess, and they don’t look like they are either. It’s pricey for a lip balm but because of the ingredients and treatment it provides as a skincare I’d say it’s worth adding to your evening routine.
Lala Retro Whipped Cream ($60.00 // Sephora). This is the product that started it all for me! It’s moisturizing enough for me to use in the winter without overdoing it and absorbs quickly. My skin doesn’t feel dry in the morning and it doesn’t make me break out.
What are some products from Drunk Elephant that you’ve been looking to try out? If you have acne prone/sensitive/oily skin like me make sure you check out my current skincare faves!
