I didn’t disappear! I promise I’m still here but with a lot going on with the kids, holidays, family and I hurt my back. Of course, right?! Because when it rains, it pours! As I was getting back into the swing of it all and was cleaning for my daughter’s birthday party this weekend I got distracted and decided I wanted to do a halo eye look with the new ColourPop x Amanda Steele Weekend Warrior Palette ($18.00 // ColourPop).

Weekend Warrior is an eyeshadow palette that contains four pressed powder eye shadows in Throttle (satin pale pink), Harley (matte cool grey), Burnout (matte deepened teal) and Chopper (matte deepened purple).

This is my first experience with the ColourPop pressed style of shadows but I was really inspired to try this quad because of a review and look I saw on YouTube by Slashed Beauty.
I was really impressed with how pigmented they were as well as smooth and even. They applied to the lid easily and blended out with minimal effort. Burnout was one that was more of a smokey type of teal but it’s buildable to be a deeper teal like you see in the pics and in my eye look. I’m not sure if it’s meant to be a more faded sort of teal but you guys know if I’m stepping out of that neutral zone then I’m going for it in terms of saturation of color.
I’m a big fan of the original ColourPop Super Shock Shadows and am really happy to have more options available with the brand at a very affordable price point. The pressed shadows are also available individually, in a few other quads and as duos so there is a lot to choose from! Note: the four shades in the Amanda Steele Weekend Warrior palette are only available in that palette.

Get the Look
- Begin with laying down a base of Urban Decay Primer Potion.
- Using a blending brush put Harley in the crease like you would a transition shade. Add a bit more eyeshadow to your brush and start applying it in the crease but really blend it onto the lid and above the crease.
- Grab a light golden metallic cream color (I used ColourPop Dirty Talk Creme Gel Colour – which doesn’t seem to be available anymore) and press it into the center of the lid.
- Using Burnout and a firm pencil brush (I used the MAC 219) press the color onto the inner and outer corners of the eye. Grab more product and blend it onto the first layer of Burnout and also bring it only into your crease. Do this again but blend it lightly into your light gold cream color.
- Using a new blending brush dab a bit more of Burnout into the crease and blend upward.
- Blend that out with more of Harley (using the brush you used for Harley).
- With a flat shadow brush (I used the MAC 239) press Throttle on top of where you had the light gold metallic cream.
- Pick up the firm pencil brush you used for Burnout and DO NOT pick up more product, but just blend the shadows lightly together to make it look more seamless.
- Blend out the shadows and highlight the brow bone by taking a fluffy brush and applying Throttle.
- Using a gel eyeliner in a blackened/brown purple shade (I used MAC Added Goodness, which is now discontinued. Right now ColourPop has Best O, which would also work) line your upper lash line.
- With a new pencil brush pick up Chopper and press it overtop of the blackened/brown gel eyeliner.
- Line the lower lash line with a deep teal pencil (I used ColourPop Fast Lane Creme Gel Pencil Liner).
- Using your Burnout pencil brush smudge more of Burnout under the lower lash line.
- Add mascara to the top & bottom lashes and you’re done! (I used Maybelline Big Shot Mascara).

I posted a pic of the eye look on Instagram too and TBH I’m much happier with how the coloring of the eye look turned out there, or maybe it’s just my computer being off and awful lol. You can really see how pretty the teal color is so make sure you check it out here!
What do you think? Are you ready to be a Weekend Warrior? I know I’m ready for the weekend and also for it to be over so things can get back to normal around here for a bit!
